Hertz Car Rental - Syracuse Hancock Airport

"The worst hertz on the planet. Incompetent and useless. I pre paid for my wife's car. She arrived and they insisted they had to run her Amex for a deposit again (even though it was already on file). Of course, their system glitched and declined the card. It turned into a big mess, and we had to use our debit card instead. This is by far the worst Hertz experience we have ever had. What a joke. I will not use this location again. Hertz is a great company, but this particular location is an absolute disaster just like previous reviews state"

"I typical avoid leaving reviews, especially bad ones. But this was the worst experience I have ever had renting a car. I rented a car online and paid the dues through Booking. I arrived at the airport and was informed I had to pay more than what my invoice said. I questioned the reason and was simply told I had to pay and that I should contact Booking when I asked to cancel the reservation since they were not honoring my reservation. To make matter’s worse, I ended up receiving a car I would never want to drive and was told that’s all they had left. Pretty avoid Hertz because their staff is not helpful at all and all they care about is money and have no people skills. I did a survey and they were to contact me by phone after 72 hours. No one called which is why I decided to leave this review here because I know the one I completed will never be posted. I waited almost two hours ( ridiculous) to pick up a car after arriving. I travel a lot and I have never experienced this at any other agency."

"Very possibly the worst Hertz location in the system. Only one person working the line. No Gold Members line or pickup. Took an hour and a half to get through 30 people. The other rental car desks were better staffed. Skip Hertz in Syracuse."

"Excellent Service and Friendliness: I needed to swap the car over as I perceived a problem. Sam at the returns was friendly and we had a wonderful conversation on his love of the Australian accent. The lady at the desk was efficient and friendly too and it only took minutes for the swap over to a replacement new car."

"1. Currently renting and realized last night that my rental agreement says that I received the Tesla at 100% charge which is not the case. I got the car at 59% charged. I’ve made numerous calls to this location with no answer. The online chat is unavailable and can’t get through to anyone using the 1-800 number either. Picture attached showing 59% when I picked it up yesterday. 2. They tried to charge me $50 more for insurance then I was originally quoted and it wasn’t until I was able to prove to them that I was quoted a certain price did they finally admit there was an error in their system. 3. Car was filthy on the inside and out. It clearly wasn’t wiped down, dust everywhere and the driver side rear window was halfway down when I walked up to the car. Front windshield was so bad that I could hardly see out of it. 4. Even though I am a gold reward member, I will NEVER rent from this location again. I’ll stick with National. 5. Lastly, adding the photos of the prior damage to the vehicle since no rep did a walk-thru with me or gave me a form to fill out."
