Situated on a small rise overlooking the river and the Highlands, the house represents the grandeur of colonial manor houses. In the 20th century, the house was repurposed as a sanatorium and underwent renovations, including the addition of a third story. After changing ownership several times, the house eventually became vacant and fell into disrepair.
