Otter Creek Preserve
Otter Creek Preserve is a stunning mosaic of Thousand Islands habitats located within walking distance of the Village of Alexandria Bay in New York. The preserve offers 1.9 miles of trails for walking, hiking, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing, with dramatic views of Otter Creek and Lynch Creek. A portion of the trail is ADA-accessible, including a wildlife observation tower overlooking the Golden-winged Warbler Demonstration Area. A cable suspension bridge adds to the experience of being in deep woods. The preserve is open year-round and ATVs and snowmobiles are not permitted. Visitors can enjoy the unique landscape and diverse wildlife while supporting the conservation efforts of the Thousand Islands Land Trust.
Wetland Overlook at the S. Gerald Ingerson Preserve
Welcome to the Wetland Overlook at the S. Gerald Ingerson Preserve, a serene and picturesque park located in Clayton, New York. Nestled within the heart of the Thousand Islands region, our preserve offers a unique opportunity to explore nature along seven miles of multi-use trails, thoughtfully developed on the historic bed of the New York Central Railroad. Directions to the Preserve: From Clayton, head south on State Route 12 for half a mile until you reach East Line Road, where the Victorian Gas & Convenience Store marks the corner. Turn left onto East Line Road and continue for 0.8 miles to find TILT's trailhead parking area for the Sissy Danforth Rivergate Trail and S. Gerald Ingerson Preserve.
