This remarkable rails-to-trails project, named in honor of former director Louise “Sissy” Danforth, encompasses several sections accessible from various points. Whether you're hiking, biking, or simply taking a leisurely stroll, the trail offers endless opportunities for outdoor adventure.

Directions to the Preserve

From Clayton, head south on State Rt. 12. After passing the stoplight, continue for half a mile until you reach East Line Road, marked by The Victorian Gas & Convenience Store on the corner. Turn left onto East Line Road and drive 0.8 miles to reach TILT's trailhead parking area for the Sissy Danforth Rivergate Trail and S. Gerald Ingerson Preserve. From here, the trail extends toward both the Village of Clayton and LaFargeville.
