"Don’t bother trying to make an appointment here. They either don’t answer or they hang up on you. I’m gonna have to literally switch neurologists because they won’t call me back or answer when I try to reschedule my appointment."
"If you call, be prepared to play the longest game of phone tag. When you finally do get connected to someone, they’ll hang up on you or disrespect you THEN hang up. No one knows what they’re doing, even the doctors. I’m seriously finding another doctor because I’m tired of this phone tag, disrespectful staff, and no answers from the so-called experts. Update: I have had two instances in a row where my medication refills were not sent to my pharmacy correctly. The first time I reported it, I was told it was not on their end. This place is so unprofessional and again no one answers the phone. There’s only one office admin for like four doctors there. It’s ridiculous. They had me waiting 40 minutes in April because said office admin “forgot” to tell my doctor I was here for my appointment. An appointment that I got no updates on apart from being told I was fat and needed to lose weight."
"I am a patient who has Blepharospasm. Dr Guttuso does my Botox injections with a gentle touch and exactly where needed to maximize its effectiveness. The office is clean and bright and staff are kind and professional."
"What is it with calling and having to call another phone number for your specific question and then following the prompts over and over and over listening to the recordings. Is this operation hoping you either forget why your calling or screw up with your detailed message so they don't need to call you back ? Do they understand how a patient with a debilitating disease and in pain may feel helpless in having to go through such a tedious process just to leave a message ?"
"I have given up on this group. Apparently, they pick and choose who they decide to see as a patient. My neurosurgeon at UBNS has been sending them referrals and notes about my symptoms since January, and my primary care doctor has also sent them a referral and medical notes. Every time I call them (when I actually get to speak with a person and not voice-mail), I get a different story as to why they have not scheduled me for an appointment. When I called in January, I was told that they received the referral, but not the surgeon's notes. So they were sent again in February and three more times in March by the P.A. at UBNS. I left four messages for them between March 15th and June 30th. Then I spoke with someone in scheduling last week, and they told me that they never received any referrals because their fax machine was broken. So my surgeon's office AND my primary care provider sent them again to the supposed new fax number. I called UB neuro again today, as I was instructed to do by the scheduling department, and left a very detailed message. They never called me back. I think that everyone who has had a similar experience should report them to the state department of education, and maybe if they get enough bad publicity, (or possibly even lose some state funding), then they just might start treating people with respect and kindness. When you have very unsettling symptoms and are scared, the last thing you need is a medical facility playing head games with you. Some of these prima-donna specialist doctors seem to have the attitude that you would be privileged to have them see you as a patient, but without the patients, they would not likely have a successful medical career. They all need to get off their high horse and realize that they are no more important than anyone else in this world. Arrogance should have no place in Healthcare."
