"After ending up with bulging and herniated discs I was incapacitated due to pain. I was referred to a physical therapist 3 days a week for months while paying a $60 copay at every visit. I received little to no relief and was told told that my only options were epidurals and surgery and that I would have to give up hiking and kayaking. At this point I was referred to Dr. Yland and at our first visit he explained to me why physical therapy had not worked for my problems and that there was no guarantee that epidurals or surgery would work. He instead offered other options to try that may work before going to extremes. He was genuinely more concerned with my well being than taking money for procedures that would not help. Good luck finding that elsewhere. Due to Dr. Ylands suggestions, I have been virtually pain free for 3 years. I have hiked and paddled hundreds of miles since being told I shouldn't and my quality of life is as good as it was before I ever had any back pain."

"I went to see this doctor for recurring back pain. I was suggested by a local ER doctor to go to pain management. I chose him....bad choice. Very UNsympathetic to my pain. WITH A SCAN IN FRONT OF HIM showing my back problem. We decided an Epidural would benefit me but it would take at least a month. So I asked him if he could keep me comfortable until I get the epidural and he said .....sorry we aren't doing that anymore.... WHAT?? Then he suggested I go back to the ER.....the ER does NOT give opiates anymore which is the only thing that even touches the pain at all. I told him this and he said...wow you're in a tough spot. Then he shook my hand and left the room. I understand the Heroin epidemic I'm not blind to that. BUT I am in legitimate pain and I DO believe that there's a fair amount of the population in severe pain that are being ignored. As for my epidural? It will be given by a doctor who cares about his patients. Not this guy. The ONLY good thing this office has going for them is the nurse JOELLE."
