"7/31/24 unprofessional Employee At around 3-4pm on 7/31/24 an employee at the front desk misunderstood the USPS shipment regulations. She stated batteries can never be shipped. Low volt batteries properly packaged get shipped all the time and it was shipped to me. I had to return them and the only representative working the line refused to ship my package. I asked for the supervisor but the employee was adamant about not helping me. The manager came out and could not convince the employee to do her job. The manager and I gave up. I just shipped this package from another post office… Please train your employees and have the up to date with protocols!"

"Don’t expect to receive anything other than a bad attitude from this USPS location. Everyone - and I mean everyone - working behind the counter here clearly takes no pride in their job. They treat every customer that walks in like an inconvenience. Today, I walked into this USPS location with a package that was taped up and ready to go but I needed a label made. When asked for assistance with the label, I was told that I should be making the label at home and they aren’t supposed to do that. Maybe I am missing something, but that is literally part of their job description: to assist customers with creating labels. The woman reluctantly started making the label but decided that she would only punch in the street name/number and zip code, nothing else. She then printed my label and told me “you need to write your return address and the name of the recipient but mind you the paper is extremely difficult to write on. So good luck with that.” It took me time but I scratched the information onto the label - it looked horrible and this was meant to be a gift. I cannot understand why she couldn’t have taken the extra 2 minutes to simply type in all the information on the computer so the label would look presentable. This is not my first time experiencing this negative and lazy attitude from the people at this location. It’s a true shame too because the mailmen/women working in Irvington work so hard and are always so helpful. The post office should be ashamed by their behavior. They are making the whole of USPS look bad."

"I resided in Irvington 2 months ago. During the final week of moving, I visited the post office and asked that they hold a specific mail from the IRS for me. The lady I spoke with took my name, address and telephone number, and assured me that she would hold the mail and call me when it arrives. The day before it arrived, I called the post office to simply remind them to hold only that mail. The person I spoke with said she doesn’t remember speaking to me. I gave her the exact date and hour I made the request in person. She got aggressive and insisted I was fabricating a story and that no one in the office remembers speaking to me. How ludicrous! While knowing I could’ve requested a change of address online, I trusted that the person I spoke with would’ve done their job properly and held my mail. I began describing the person I spoke with as I forgot her name, she asked “is she black or white?” Immediately I knew where this conversation was going and how shallow minded this lady was. She began yelling and hung the phone up in my ear. I mean, I understand everyone’s going through something but whatever it is you’re facing, pray about it and please refrain from projecting your distasteful behavior onto others."
