"Stopped by around 4pm after visiting an exhibition nearby and surprisingly it was quite full, but we got seated right away. Their menu is filled with pictures and we just wanted to order everything. We ordered the 5 star combo steamed soup dumplings, pan fried pork soup dumplings, wonton red chili oil, scallion pancake with beef brisket, roast pork buns, ox brisket and the beef stew noodle soup. The soup dumplings were juicy and hot. The pan fried pork soup dumplings were not overly thick and was crispy with the right amount of soup inside. The wonton red chili oil was not as spicy as I thought it would be but they also added peanut sauce on top which added a nice twist to it. The scallion pancake with beef brisket was hot and crispy. The beef stew noodle soup was super flavorful and the beef stew was tender. Given the area that this food establishment is in, the food is pretty solid and reasonably priced."
"Went there with one of my friend from Shanghai and his comment was « I always come here to get flavors from my childhood. All my Shanghainese friends come here ». The food was quite good! I wanted to try more items on the menu than we could eat, so I’ll have time come back. My friend even order food for his next day lunch! Small but clean place, rather busy but the waiting time was okay. The"
"Overall, a great dining experience! We ordered a few Shanghai specialties to savor the authentic taste of Shanghai here, and we were quite pleased with the flavors of most dishes. The pan-fried buns were generously filled, the soup was just right, and they were cooked to perfection. It's a bit pricier than the authentic Shanghai restaurants in Flushing, but considering Manhattan's rent, the value for money is already quite good. The stir-fried pig liver was surprisingly impressive, with tender liver and a rich Shanghai-style sauce. The Shanghai pickled mustard greens yellow croaker noodles and tofu were also delicious. The restaurant is not very big, and it can get quite crowded, so the service may be a bit slow at times. However, the staff is very friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone interested in experiencing traditional Shanghai cuisine."
"One of the better Shanghai restaurants I've tried in Midtown. The service was a little slow but the staff was very friendly and they seem to be swamped. I really loved the pan fried soup dumplings and the woodier mushrooms. Everything was pretty affordable and the portions were very reasonable. I highly recommend you try this place if you are ever in the area."
