Established in 1978 on a 902-acre tract of land, the cemetery was created to meet the needs of the greater New York area, home to nearly three million veterans and their families. Calverton National Cemetery offers a serene and respectful environment for families to honor their loved ones. The cemetery accommodates casketed burials, in-ground interment of cremains, and placement in columbaria. An ossuary is also available for those who choose this option.
