As a part of the Calverton National Cemetery, Section 30 honors the legacy and sacrifices of nearly 10 million veterans. At Section 30, we are committed to preserving the memories of veterans through our digital platform, VLM (Veterans Legacy Memorial). This interactive feature enables families and loved ones to post tributes, upload images, and share detailed timelines of military service and achievements, along with biographical information and historical documents.

Our facilities at Section 30 accommodate both casketed burials and the interment of cremains, providing options for in-ground burials as well as placements in columbaria. Additionally, we offer an ossuary for those who choose this form of remembrance.

Eligibility for burial in our national cemetery extends to all members of the armed forces who meet minimum active duty service requirements and were discharged under conditions other than dishonorable. This privilege is also extended to eligible spouses, children, and certain members of the reserve components.

Visitors to Section 30 are guided by our dedicated staff and the available gravesite locators, ensuring a respectful and dignified experience. A temporary grave marker is placed immediately following interment, with a permanent marker provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs within 60 days.

Activities that detract from the dignity of the setting, such as recreational sports or public gatherings of a partisan nature, are prohibited. For those traveling to Section 30, we are conveniently accessible via the Long Island Expressway and are approximately 30 minutes from Long Island MacArthur Airport. We provide transportation assistance to gravesites for those in need, weather permitting.
