"For the birth of our first child, my husband and I decided that we felt most comfortable at the hospital and because of minor complications, it was the right decision. Despite being the most beautiful water birth, I knew for our next baby I wanted to deliver in a different environment. Knowing more about birth and labor, I had more confidence in my body and my mind this time around and we knew we wanted to go to the birthing center. The morning I went into labor, my midwife advised me to head towards the birthing center since we live just under an hour away. As soon as we arrived, my body relaxed and I knew we made the right decision. The atmosphere was so calm, the lighting was dim, and our doula quickly turned it into a beautiful environment of projected lights, affirmations hung on the walls, and music to keep me in the moment. The nurses at the birthing center were so sweet and the perfect addition to my birth team! We were there for about 9 hours total and it was such a beautiful experience from start to finish, I am so glad I followed my instincts and chose to give birth there!"

"My husband and I recently welcomed our second child here at OBC, and could not have been happier with the entire experience! From the beautiful rooms where anything you could need has been carefully thought through, to the caring staff… it was a dream! We utilized the tub for a water birth and then relaxed as a family on the bed shortly after. Our baby was born at 6:53p, and we were home before 10:30p! We were very lucky to work with Cindy and Roxie from Sage Midwifery who provided a quality of care that is equal parts compassionate, thorough, and knowledgable. If we have anymore children, we will definitely be back!"

"I recently had our baby girl at Our Birthing Center with the Midwives of NJ on March 20 and wish that every mother could experience having her baby there. I had our first daughter in the hospital and the two experiences were so different. Everyone at Our Birthing Center is so helpful and personable. I only called there a couple of times since everything was taken care of so easily, but when I did call, everyone I spoke to was very pleasant. The birthing experience was wonderful as well. It was nice being able to go right to the birthing center, where it is peaceful and everyone supports your wishes. I felt empowered and in control. I was hoping to be able to have a water birth, but ended up delivering our baby 20 minutes after we got there. As soon as our daughter was born, I held her for hours before anyone asked anything of us. Those hours were so precious and unforgettable. Our nurse, Jamie, was very supportive, sweet and helpful. I knew that she was there for me when I needed her. Discharge was so easy and we felt prepared to go home just hours after our baby was born. The very next day a postpartum nurse, Sophia, came to our house to check on me and our baby. She was wonderful and personable and put any of my concerns and my husband’s concerns at ease. In the coming days after delivery, I received information regarding our baby’s birth certificate and hearing test. We were even able to bring our baby back to Our Birthing Center to have her hearing tested. While there, the nurse checked up on me and my recovery. I would recommend Our Birthing Center and the Midwives of NJ to anyone and already do! Like I started with, every woman should be able to birth in such a wonderful place. Thank you!"
