"Obinna is my provider, he is great. I have been seeing him for roughly a year. He does an excellent job of listening and making suggestions of medication options and goals to set. Gail in reception is also great at her job. I always feel supported when reaching out to sage wellness. “STAY STRONG”"
"I agree with the review written by Juniper Lee Sage below. Had sessions with a LSW here… She always starts off by asking what’s been going on since I last saw her. I told her what events (big or small) happened since she ask for more details. Always criticize me and fight against me. Whenever I did solve or lessen a problem in my life (it wasn’t easy for me, I had to lose face and beg people for favors and help), she took credit for it as if she was the one who resolved it for me from just words coming out of her mouth. To be honest, I kinda dread every session I had with her. It’s just her saying “okay, do this and that and there…problem solved!”. If only problems were that easy to do and solve, we wouldn’t need therapy would we? After several sessions, she said I should go find another therapist because “it’s not working out between us”. She told me that therapy isn’t a place for me to rant about my week- even though I only answered what she asked. Whatever, I gave up on therapy after this."
"For as long as I live I think I'll always be astonished by how bad my one and only session with Sara Kinneary was. Her tone from the start was confrontational and borderline combative. She tried preaching her bizarre individualism doctrine when I told her how the sorry state of the world made me feel. At one point she even said that the way to combat global famine is self sufficiency, as if individuals having vegetable gardens will solve manufactured scarcity of food. Her overall message seemed to be that I should get over it, feel nothing about the world around me, and focus entirely on myself. No reason at all to confront the emotions. She even seemed to suggest that I wasn't there to get better. I guess she thought I was faking it. She also seemed to suggest that the solution for the healthcare crisis in this country is for the individual to simply take care of themselves. That's clearly not possible in a system that drowns people in medical debt. She said that her solution is to take care of herself and do things to make sure that she lives a healthy life, completely ignoring the countless people who are being left behind by the system every single day. Not being able to recognize the struggles of other people is absolutely not a characteristic anyone should look for in a therapist. The only positive thing I could say about the experience is that the woman working reception was very friendly and warm. I almost wish she was my therapist. Will not be going back. Edit to respond to their godawful reply: 1. Sara Kinneary did discuss the topics I wished to talk about. She just had horrible, unempathetic, and thoroughly unhelpful things to say about them. Again, all while using a hostile and combative tone. Never have I ever encountered a mental healthcare provider with such a lack of warmth and empathy. 2. I am well aware that Sage Wellness focuses on therapeutic interventions for mental health issues. That is why I was there. I am well aware of what therapy is. You people really have a knack for talking down to your clients, don’t you? That being said, she wasn’t providing me with individualized techniques to overcome challenges, as you say. Rather, she was preaching her bizarre and unempathetic libertarian political philosophy. The world is falling apart around us, and we as a population are basically micro-dosing trauma every single day. Telling someone to get over it and focus entirely on hyper-individualism is NOT a solution. 3. I did not receive unhelpful feedback. I did not receive feedback of any kind. I was subjected to roughly 30 minutes of being told why I was wrong for feeling the way I feel about the world and myself while she tried to convince me that empathy is my enemy. I have been to therapy before. I know what a good therapist looks like. This is not it. You people belong nowhere near mental healthcare. I wish you everything but the best and genuinely hope this practice goes out of business soon."
"I have been with Sage Wellness since they opened. Kim is a skilled and compassionate therapist with a fantastic memory. She is professional, punctual, sympathetic and understanding. I have experienced tremendous growth seeing her throughout the years. She has helped me with many breakthroughs with anxiety which supported my decision making skills and how to learn and grow as a person."
"I've been working with Kim and Courtney for over 3 years. The reception and office staff are always friendly and kind and I always receive a prompt response to messages I leave. Kim is a wonderful therapist who truly cares about me as an individual. She makes herself available whenever she's needed. Courtney is wonderful with medication management, explaining advantages to different medication options and offering sound advice and guidance. I couldn't be happier with the care and service I receive at Sage."
