Our location is steeped in history, featuring a section of the Old Mine Road, reputedly constructed by early Dutch miners in the mid-1600s. This area offers a unique glimpse into the past, where the Walpack Township was once part of a larger historical landscape. At Decker Ferry House, we are dedicated to preserving and sharing the vibrant history of the Walpack area. As part of the Walpack Historical Society (WHS), we host various public events and activities, including lectures, tours, and exhibitions, to stimulate awareness and interest in the local heritage. Our events begin annually after Memorial Day and conclude on Van Campen Inn Day in October.
