Towne Oaks Apartment

"The Bad Your lease renewal here is between 5-6% of an increase. Most employees only receive a 2% raise at work (please keep this in mind when moving). I tried using the laundry facilities only to find mold in all 6 washers. There are 97 units and only 6 washers and 6 dryers. There are children who live here. They have only 1 maintenance and can’t afford to at least hire someone to take care of the small laundry facility or provide cleaning supplies so we can disinfect as we use the equipment. My bathroom was dirty when I moved in. There is a part in the lease that states if you do not clean they will charge a fee. In this case the fee did not go to hiring someone to clean. I have tiles that have been painted over with contractors paint rather then tile paint and it’s not of the same color. ROACHES! They have ROACHES. It took 6 months for them to come out. They offer a service of having someone come once a month to fumigate. The roaches were still appearing so I had to buy my own stuff. The common areas in my part of the complex are dirty. So they have no one sweeping or mopping these areas which is violation of the right to decent housing. Everyone has to walk a half a mile to throw trash out because instead of leaving each dumpster near each section of the complex they pile them up behind the laundry facility. Their solar lights in the parking lots do not work, so good luck. Energy Efficiency The apartments are not energy efficient. You can try buying as many products as you want to keep the warm air from leaving however the doors have gaps on the top and bottom causing cold and warm air to come and go. Utility bill is never under $100, ranges $100-200. I leave mine in 65 that this is the bill I get. The Good Maintenance is pretty great. They always show up pretty fast. They did a great job refinishing the hardwood floors in the apt I moved into. There is so much closet space. My room has a walk in closet. My apartment came with a front and back door, yes, the balcony is not a balcony but more of an emergency exit but it has a rustic look to it (it is an old building). They let you know that there is the possibility of mold or lead in the apartments (not the laundry facilities or laundry equipment). The place states build in 89 however lead paint stopped in the late 70’s. Still don’t understand why they make each tenant sign a document about the mold. Pets- Yes they allow pets with pet fee. They allow dogs if they are a registered service animal. No I have not seen poop everywhere, however they can provide signs that state to clean up after your pet. The children do not bother. I have witness plowing services. However, maintenance won’t shovel sections D and E properly when it snows. The water, trash removal, and sewer is included."

"Lived here for four horrible years. The place is filthy and badly managed. Our apartment had a roach problem despite the fact that we cleaned regularly, we never had hot water, and the last week we lived there, our water was coming out brown which was not addressed immediately by maintenance. I am so happy that I will never have to live here again. The place is a dump."
