New Student Initiatives - University of Nevada, Reno
New Student Initiatives at the University of Nevada, Reno is dedicated to helping incoming students and their families transition smoothly into college life. The New Student Orientation program offers workshops and presentations on academic advising, college life, and getting involved on campus. This program is required for all first-year students and highly recommended for new transfer students. Parents and supporters are also encouraged to participate in a family orientation program. Orientation sessions are held in June or July for students starting classes in the fall semester. The program includes a light breakfast, full lunch, and afternoon snack for both students and registered guests. Optional campus tours are also offered to familiarize students with the campus. Family orientation programs are available in Spanish on select days. Free parking is available at the West Stadium Parking Complex for orientation attendees.
