“If you’re in need of a beautiful piece of cake , great coffee and good banter then don’t go past Freda’s. The pineapple upside down cake was fantastic, as was the carrot cake. All are baked fresh in the premises. They serve a fantastic long black and the Earl Grey Tea was perfect. Will be heading back for dinner. Nothing fancy just a very well run business with excellent food and service, well worth a visit.”

“Great food, but be careful as "not spicy" here doesn't mean the same as it might in other cuisines you're used to. Wonderful staff and chef. We really felt well cared for and at home. Will definitely be back next time we're in St Kilda. The place is tiny, so I think you'd usually have to book. We just walked in on a cold and wet Sunday afternoon, so I think we got lucky.”

“Went here for my birthday after googling for a place to go, saw the good reviews, and booked, definitely a good choice, made the night. The young French guy, can’t remember his name, but he’s from Lille and here two months, was the perfect host, had a lovely chat with him. The ambience is perfect, candlelit, relaxed, and though the place was almost full, the noise level was low. The food was perfect. We had the scallops and pasta truffle for starters, delicious. For mains we both had the Beef Borginon , cooked to perfection on a bed of mash, carrots. Creme Brûlée and a cheese Platter to finish us off. Will be going back to try more on their menu for sure, can highly recommend a visit.”

“It was our first French dinning. Very friendly staffs. We left a note said that it is our first wedding anniversary to our booking. They even organised a special table for us, what a surprise! Foods were amazing too. Thank you for the romantic experience. It was very special to us!”

“An exceptional night out was had at this wonderful restaurant. The staff were welcoming and a delight to chat with, and the french food was incredible. We ordered the french onion soup, the escargot, the crab ravioli and the steak eye fillet. All cooked to perfection. We then ordered a Bombe Alaska which was presented with much fanfare. The lovely birthday candle presented on the creme caramel was also a highlight of the evening. It showed just how thoughtful the staff were to make the evening even more memorable. We will definitely return.”

“Where to start- what a divine space. Poodle exceeded all expectations of myself and my partner, the food was lovely, the cocktails sensational but what really stood out was the service. The staff from the minute you walk in are so bright and lovely. It’s a wonderful warm space that feels inclusive and welcoming to all patrons. We can’t thank the staff enough for elevating an already spectacular space. Hands down the best restaurant we’ve visited in Melbourne in a while, and we will absolutely be back.”

“This is definitely one of the most slept on gastronomic experiences of Melbourne Combining both a mix of local and international influences, the chefs here have created a wonderful degustation menu with enough variety that even a fussy palate would be happy with We got both the wine/sake pairing and the non-alcoholic pairing (masterfully created by sommelier Charles) and honestly, the non-alcoholic pairing was the hidden gem of the drinks list Would 100% recommend this dining experience and for the value, you’d be a fool to miss it”
