"We are very disappointed with Andersen, because after spending all of this time (4 long meetings over multiple months) explaining what we wanted to do with our money and our goals for the future, EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE happened. We needed to be able to access our money quickly and to keep it safe because we are elderly. So, what did they do? They sold our life savings to E-Trade, which we could have done ourselves, and In 24 days our IRA lost over 7K! This happened when the stock market had reported its best quarter in over 20 years! And then when we wanted to get it out of E-Trade, they told us to do it ourselves! We could never get in touch with "Brianna", and when we did she told us she is not "in charge of" transferring our IRA from E-Trade. What??? What purpose do they serve, then? We were better off staying with Edward Jones. When they realized that we wanted to get all of our money out of E-Trade, they didn't know how to do it! And they stopped communicating with us altogether, with the exception of voice and email messages with "Brianna". This was a very expensive mistake. We were better off managing our money ourselves. We still do NOT have our transfer complete, and we have to go through so much paperwork that it's a good thing we don't need it right away. It hurts to lose that much money, but we learned our lesson, do NOT trust this company. I feel like we have been scammed."

"I was excited to meet with Mike after I had listened to his radio program several times and had the initial conversation with him. The people working for Mike Andersen are all really friendly and one feels welcomed and valued when meeting for appointments. However, I was quite dissatisfied with the outcome of the Proposal meeting after having provided all of our financial info during the Exploration meeting. His team didn't pass along some info that was requested and I had sent, he didn't discuss any information on how our rental properties would impact our retirement income after we told him this was a priority for us, and there was little-to-no mention of our current asset allocation - all priorities I had mentioned that I wanted to discuss in the Proposal meeting. Finally, his plan included a heavy dose of insurance products, which carry large commissions for AWM. His next step was to transfer our brokerage assets to the brokerage firm he works with and we hadn't received a detailed plan (huh?). I had called to inform them that I wouldn't be proceeding forward and shortly thereafter I received a call from another member of the AWM team if I was ready to proceed (lack of comms at AWM). My meeting with Mike took place back in March 2019 and it took me awhile to find another person I could trust. When I found a trustworthy one later in the year and provided all the same financial info (but obviously updated), the results were completely different whereby I was given a printout of my current allocation, a few proposals based on risk tolerance and asset allocation, and a conversation that talked about the plan forward. These results highlighted the disappointment with all the effort that went into AWM. With a common portfolio of 401Ks, Roth IRAs, brokerage and saving accounts, and an addition of a few rental properties, we are not that complicated to have received minimal outputs for our dealings with AWM. As is the case with most services, shop around and compare, especially when opening up a window into your financial life that few get to see."
