“We were in the area and booked last minute for Sunday lunch. We were recieved with a warm welcome, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The Sunday menu has a fabulous options from a variety cuisines. The food was excellent, a 10/10 per course. I will definitely return. Thank you.”

“I've been to this pub a fair bit but never sampled the roast until last Sunday. We ordered lamb and a vegan roast, and both were the best we have had in our lives. I cannot begin to even describe how tasty this food was. My girlfriend said it was THE best vegan food she's ever had in a restaurant. The staff are also so welcoming and friendly. The delicious food in combination with the ebullient staff really made our day. Thanks guys! This is without a doubt a 10/10”

“Helpful and knowledgable staff, always happy to help, make a visit here pleasant and useful when you're looking to stock up for events and parties. Just watch out for the parking attendants - these guys could have taken jobs with Satan and not been out of place. Stick to the Majestic assigned bays and DO NOT go over the lines. Note parking attendants are nothing to do with Majestic and their staff are just as likely to be hit by the ticket-demons.”

“Really friendly welcome to a nice pub at the front and then led to the back of the building to eat. Amazing views out over the valley and Darwen tower. Picture attached was the cheese pie and was brilliant, tasty and filling. Will be going again.”

“What an unexpected surprise! Spontaneously went for dinner on Saturday evening. They found us a table in the upstairs area which was lovely. Food was delicious and the service was attentive and helpful. We returned to the downstairs bar for cocktails. All the little details made it a lovely place and we had a wonderful evening. “Ok guys you need to check this, it is a restaurant that has food on the go and yeah, the excellent communication with staff is really helpful to order the food. First, excellent communication to ordering the spaghetti carbonara does taste so good and yeah the sauce is creamy The word for metres is really in flavour the spaghetti is cooked the sauce is creamy and also the bacon is really crispy. Then at the end,We order some dessert that is the chocolate fondant that taste so good that the chocolate is really good and yeah, it’s like those Lava cakes I tasted in Hong Kong. The decoration on the dish and, I mean all dishes is amazing. Really enjoyed and you must also. And about the restaurant, the atmosphere and the lighting is amazing and even the stairs are lighted per step. They give out candles at night because it was late or dark enough outside to low the brightness on lights and use the candles. They also have this bar and I mean multiple bars that is literally a wine garden or heaven or whatever but also, the thing I’m looking for in most restaurants are clean toilets and yes, the toilets are clean. You gotta try it out I recommend it very very much.”

“Gorgeous setting for a meal during the day after a walk but equally lovely in the evenings. Traditional English pub with a great history, tied in to the local mining museum. Open fires in the colder months making it such a cozy setting and lovely outdoor area for warmer months. My most recent visit was after a change of landlord/lady. The food really delicious with great service. I'm vegan and had a really fantastic choice of options. My omnivore friends were equally delighted with their meals. Dog and child friendly.”

“It was a very relaxing and beautiful experience! I took my mum for a birthday breakfast. The food was great, you get a continental breakfast buffet and can order few dishes on the side. The food quality was great and the price was really convenient. The service was amazing the manger that day Magdy, he helped us getting a beautiful dessert as surprise for my mum. It was my first time but definitely not the last!! I would highly recommend it.”

“I have not been in the Jolly Hatters for years. As the Jolly is so close to our home and it was my husband's birthday we thought we would give it a go. It was a lovely evening.... full of old neighbours we had not seen in ages. The Pub was clean and tidy and nicely decorated. Tuesday night was a quiz night which we were unaware of, however we were invited to take part. We will be visiting again very soon.”
