Legh Arms, Prestbury
“We had the most amazing bacon & egg butties this week. The service was excellent, the staff welcoming and the pub itself is clean and cosy. We took our dog with us and she was made very welcome and enjoyed the biscuits they gave her! Would highly recommend and will be visiting to try the Sunday lunch now!”
Trinity Bridge
“An iconic modern footbridge over the Manchester Ship Canal linking the Imperial War Museum North in Trafford with The Lowry theatre in Salford Quays”
Mermaid's Pool
“Fantastic place to visit, well off the beaten path so if you can find it it’s breath taking, just don’t give up when you get to the forest you don’t have to much further to go. If you camp be respectful and don’t have fires, there’s clearly been a lot of wild camping in the forest and up at mermaids pool. Golden rule of wild camping is leave no trace and don’t have fires! Don’t stop wild camping for the rest of us!”
Wince Brooke Park
“Great walk. & crazy mare cafe there also would recommend.”
Boggart Hole Clough
“Nice place to go for a walk and to take kids and dogs. Quiet in the mornings, in general quite clean, not sure what's happening with that green water though. There are some ducks, not too many. The playground is great for kids, from small to a little bigger, plenty to do and space to run around.”
Blackleach Country Park
“Great area to go for a walk especially if you’re a doggy owner. Plenty of lovely views to enjoy.”
Clayton Vale
“Fantastic MTB trails and beautifully maintained park, the trails are my main reason to love this place even though they need some maintenance and TLC from the Velodrome some of the trails have been improved already with more work on the way In the spring. A great place for kids teenagers and adults to improve their techniques and skills with trails for all ability levels. YouTube Carbon_Medz for videos on Clayton Vale”
The Vinery
“Lovely eating place. Very clean. Great food. What really made it special was the very welcoming and friendly staff. Highly recommended!”
Fog Lane Park
“Beautiful park with a lovely duck pond, a hidden wood, a great running path, and lots of open spaces and public spaces. Only thing is it can feel quite unsafe when it’s dark”
Dukinfield Park
“Great park for the kids. Large play area with lots of fields for children to play football etc. Lots of squirrels to feed too.”
Prince's Park
“Great kids playpark, the skatepark looks really good as well”
Winton Park
“I visited this park whilst visiting my son for the weekend. It was very clean and void of dog excrement which was a pleasant surprise. The litter bins, surfaces and play equipment were very well maintained along with the trees and flowerbeds. It was raining but plenty of families were making use of the facility which was lovely to see and we enjoyed walking around the nature trail. The toilets were closed during the time of my visit due to the pandemic and Diana reminding visitors to socially distance were very visible but subtlety positioned.”
Bay Horse
“Lovely atmosphere and great surroundings, the beer garden is nice with climbing frames for kids to play on. The service is quick and very friendly despite the restrictions placed on them.”
Waterhead Park
“Definitely make this park a place to visit! It has something for everyone and all ages. There is a playing field for rugby and football, a skate park with a half pipe and ramps. The gardens and paths are maintained beautifully but the absolute highlight is the community hub that they have at Waterhead Park. There is a well stocked cafe with friendly staff who are eager to make you comfortable and well fed and watered. But the jewel in the crown in the "veg in the park" gardening experience where all are welcome and encouraged to lend a hand, they have raised beds, flowers and trees, vegetables and herbs and an enormous poly tunnel where potting and seeding can take place, rain or shine. Again, the volunteers and staff do their upmost to make you welcome and a keen to share their knowledge and experience with you. All in all, a wonderful park to visit. 100% recommend it to all.”

“New to the area and we decided to come in on saturday morning, the girls on the bar were so lovely and made sure we were well looked after that we decided to pop in on sunday as well and to our suprise the same two members, Jen and Chloe were there. They really made us feel welcome and made excellent drink recommendations. Will definitely be returning”
