“I'd initially booked a two week jaunt to South Africa for my Dads 60th and after months of uncertainty we got the call that it couldn't go ahead. Despite this, Black Opal had stayed in touch throughout the entire experience, reassuring us that they would do everything in their power to make it happen. Alas, it was out of their hands. Black Opal quickly arranged an alternative trip to Murrayfield to at least watch the Lions on home soil and what a day it was, we saw all of the players board the buses prior to playing and a stellar 3 course meal with guest speakers. We had great seats and the atmosphere was as good as we could of expected. Black Opal accommodated a payment method they did not previously accept for me to pay for the entire trip and we got great rates for the initial trip to South Africa and the revised trip to Edinburgh. I'd not used a travel operator before, but I can assure you reading this and Black Opal I do not intend to go elsewhere ever again for sports excursions. Special mention to Ben Collis for the initial handling of my enquiry but my utmost thanks and appreciation goes to Kathryn Morris who was instrumental in the handling of our initial trip when it was in limbo and arranging our trip to Edinburgh. I cannot recommend this group enough.”

“Visited the store to look for curtains (didn't have the size in-store for the style I wanted) and to have some lunch at the cafe, ordered a toasted tea cake (they're massive I only had half, it was enough), a banoffe muffin and of course a hot chocolate, which was all absolutely delicious. The £1 cake with any main offer meant 3 teas, a hot chocolate, two soups, a toasted tea cake and 3 cakes came to just £22!! Brilliant. Service was quick and the staff were very friendly and helpful.”

“The uramaki rolls and crispy fried squid are fantastic! It tasted like the maki rolls were made using fresh ingredients and were very flavourful and saucy. The katsu roll was our favourite! Good value for money too, with 10 pieces in each maki roll. Would highly recommend this place.”

We even used his cabinet spraying service to achieve the exact colour we wanted. He’s a great guy to work with, honest and trustworthy, providing excellent customer service and invaluable advice throughout. His craftmanship is flawless and attention to detail meticulous. “After reading negative reviews on here, I wasn't sure what to expect but I was really impressed by Townfields. It's not cheap but it's a proper restaurant and all such places cost these days. The point is, it's worth it. I considered removing a star for the staff being nothing like as knowledgeable as they should be for the standard of the establishment. But I decided that would be churlish. The service was good, it was friendly and it was quick. The atmosphere is relaxed and tranquil, just right for a quiet night out. The food, though, is what stands out. The two of us ordered different things over three courses and all six dishes were top quality. A bit different, beautifully presented and memorably delicious. Definitely recommended.”
