I have only been here once before, years ago but the atmosphere is much better now. I felt that the last time I was here, everyone seemed very tense as though it was going to kick off any minute. The pub is dog friendly as are we and the gentleman behind the bar tonight at 18.00 was very helpful and friendly. The locals seem very content in the pleasant surroundings and were happy to chat.
