“We ended up in furniture village by chance one day when we were looking around different shops for furniture for our new home and I’m so, so glad we did. I do have to say that the majority of downstairs items weren’t our style, but upstairs we found so much we absolutely loved - so don’t be put off by what’s visible from the outside, it’s definitely worth going in to have a look around. On our first visit we saw a beautiful ercol sofa on display upstairs and then made our way over to the beds section where Laura came over and introduced herself to us. I’m not even exaggerating when i say, i never knew somebody could know so much about furniture, beds, brands and the business she’s working for. We spent around an hour with Laura looking at frames, material, trying different mattresses and pillows. She was super informative without being pushy and although she knew we weren’t ready to purchase there and then, she still spent just as much time with us as she would have would we have been paying customers, ensuring we had all the information we needed for when we were ready to make a decision. And because of this we knew we wouldn’t go to anybody else when the time came to buy. We left with loads of information, a hot chocolate i believe, and having found the bed, mattress and potentially sofa that we would like. A good few weeks later we saw there was a sale on at Furniture Village so decided to go in, have a look at prices and potentially go ahead with the order. Of course we only wanted to deal with Laura cause of how amazing her customer service was the last time we were in, so we caught her attention and patiently waited for her to finish with her customers. So first we went through the bed frame and mattress we wanted, Laura remembered from the previous appointment the ones we loved and we confirmed that we would like to go ahead with those options. Once the bed options were all confirmed we started to enquire about the sofa we loved, our timing was impeccable as it was only the evening prior to us going in again that they had received an email for the display sofa to go on sale - Laura agreed a price with the other managers which was absolutely amazing for us as buying and furnishing a house isn’t cheap so every little helps. You could tell the staff take great care of the furniture as the sofa looked good as new. We also enquired about the upcoming Black Friday sale and Laura reassured us that the prices are unlikely to go any lower, but should that happen they will price match themselves which was exactly what happened with the Tempur mattress we ordered. Because we chose the finance offer, it was a good few weeks before going in to set up the finance contract as we didn’t want our furniture delivered to a building site… during this time Laura has been so easy to communicate with, there have been multiple times when i have added other items to the order, or enquired about other display items from stores all over which she has organised for me no bother. I’ve honestly never received such good customer service, hence the essay of a review because this amazing lady really needs to be recognised for all her hard work. I went from going into furniture village by chance to furnishing the majority of our home from there, all of which was organised and accommodated by Laura.”

“I ordered fence panels online, completing the order was frustrating owing to a technical problem ! But once completed Jewsons were brilliant ! As part of the problem my order was designated as collect, but I wanted delivery. The branch was closed , so phoned next day to rearrange delivery, this was done with no problem. My order was delivered next day . Brilliant. As an aside the fence panels were mad by Grange, approximately £4 dearer than those sold by most diy stores, but the difference in quality is like chalk and cheese ! Well done to Jewsons and staff for their help and stocking quality materials !”

“Just had our first Chinese from here, absolutely top notch So fresh, chicken moist, rice fluffy arrived quickly and nice and hot. Best Chinese takeaway in a long time. Well worth a visit.”

“Very helpful staff, good and varied selection of furniture, from 3 piece suites and 2 seater sofas to recliner arm chairs and riser chairs. They also sell other furniture like dining tables and chairs, coffee tables, shelving units and so on. It's a large shop but it's not like the large open plan places, it can be a little cramped compared to the bigger companies but the make up for it in quantity, variety and quality. The prices are very reasonable too, they had a few of the same items as furniture village at much cheaper prices. In fact the chair I wanted could not be found cheaper anywhere, even through online retailers. They also offered a longer warranty than anyone else, it was 2 years but I can't say whether everything has the same or not. If for whatever reason it does break after the warranty period then they will also carry out repairs and maintenance which offers me piece of mind when making a large purchase.”

“I had a new Schuller Kitchen fitted in March 2021. I was quite particular with my specifications as I wanted to keep my existing granite worktops but replace all the units.
