“Absolutely love Strinesdale foot paths and 2 large Reservoir's that allow fishing. It also has free parking and is that vast of a space you can walk round it and not bump in to anyone. Strinesdale also has a few picnic areas and amazing views out to the Pennines. There are 3 different routes you can take for that casual stroll or if you are looking to explore of the beat and track you can end up right in the hills and come out at a little farm house. All in all this is one of my favourite places to walk my dog and would recommend it to anyone.”

“Fabulous food & lovely atmosphere, it was our first visit here & we'll definitely return. We tried the pizza's but the Italian standard dishes that everyone else were ordering looked fantastic. The decor is a little dated but if you value food quality over a restaurant "looking modern" then definitely go here.”

“Gorgeous place the food the staff and the decor highly recommend the only negative was dj music too loud just tone it down slightly as could not hear ourselves. To be fair they did offer a conservatory table.”

If you're looking for a good night out with welcoming staff and locals or a really nice meal, I honestly can't recommend this place enough. “Oh my god, this is the best kebab I've ever eaten in my entire life. I'm from out of the area so looked up local takeaways on just eat and I'm glad I chose to order here. The meat is like nothing I've ever tasted and the guys behind the counter couldn't have been anymore friendlier. Even threw in a free drink for my son. I'm very impressed and will definitely be back when I'm next in the area. Mind = blown!”

“This stunning spot is great for bird watching and a wonderful habitat There are bridle paths for horse-riding and clearly marked footpaths for ramblers or gentle family walks. Enjoy fresh air, woodland and wildlife!”

“Enjoyed a very nice meal at the waggon Inn. A little pricey considering you need to order potatoes and vegetables to go with your main if ordering lamb shank. Puds also pricey at £7.50 but decent portions. Good service.”

“Really nice and friendly place. We turned up at very short notice as a table of 6 adults and 2 children and they managed to accommodate us. Food was lovely, all arrived swiftly and all together. The prices are very reasonable and the staff were friendly and helpful, definitely returning.”

“First went to this pub in 2021, I’m from Shaw but live in the US, stayed at a local Airbnb thought we’d give it a go, simply the best Cheese & onion pie you’ll ever have, was back in the UK in February, went twice in 8 days Great pub all round!!”

“Lovely little pub in the Northern Quarter but for its size you wouldnt expect it to also have a stage for gigs, if you like smaller bands and indie music this is the place for it. Even though it is on the smaller side it just makes the events feel that bit more intimate.”

“My husband and I were looking for somewhere a little bit special for our last date night before our first baby arrives in the next few weeks, and I found Khau Galli online. We booked a VIP Pod, and had such a wonderful evening! The food was incredible, the staff and service were brilliant, and the whole unique dining experience in the pod was fantastic. There was even an Alexa in each pod so you can have whatever music playing that you like, which was a lovely bonus touch. We’ll definitely be going back again in the future, and I highly recommend it to anyone!”
