“Nice pub, our local but its one of our favourites in Hayfield. Friendly atmosphere, manager is hands on and available. food is basic and nothing too fancy but it's good and what you want after a long walk, roaring fire in the colder months and good service. Can't comment on the rooms as we're local to the venue.”

“We stayed near this pub and ate & drank there several times during the week. The staff were lovely and friendly and the pub grub was excellent! The meals were plentiful, an excellent plateful, which is always good for me, and some of the pies in particular, were lovely. The Fidget Pie was definitely one I’d not heard of before, but I’d definitely recommend. So, if you’re looking for friendly staff, friendly locals and excellent pub grub, then I’d highly recommend the Lantern Pike!”

“First time ordering and recieving delivery...Full marks..It was prompt, hot, and fabulous..Prawn toast exceptional, ribs very meaty and tender, Salt n pepper chips to die for, and Chicken chow mein as expected chicken very tender, and lots of it!..Got you on speed dial now! “Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Navigation Inn. Great food and choice of cask ales. Located a short walk along canal path to Whaley Bridge, and 3 miles along canal path to New Mills. Recommend lamb shank and beef hot pot with extra chunky fries which we had (see photos) ..No need for chips on the way home after that. Very warm and cosy traditional friendly atmosphere with low ceilings. Choice of 4 cask ales, including Timothy Taylor..See photos. B&B :- Four poster room very nice with new spacious ensuit shower. Stairs and landing work in progress re decorating but this didn't change our enjoyment in the slightest :) Breakfast amazing with all the usual choices cooked really well and any variation in menu not to much trouble. Will definitely return.”

“Attended for a christening in the function room it's a stunning room perfect for a small wedding reception! Only flaw was the bar & toilets was down stairs which was a little difficult for people unsteady on there feet. Bar well stocked and quick service.”

“This was a quick sleep stopover between flights and I didn't have much of an expectation due to a recent stopover at another Travelodge. However, it was very clean and well maintained yet this is rated 2star?? (I stayed at Park Royal, where the carpet in the room was disgusting and toilet wouldn't flush, yet this was rated 4 stars!!!) Here at Stockport nothing was too much trouble as we checked in at 1am after a flight delay and this continued the following morning with excellent customer service from all staff. Definitely brought Travelodge back up the booking ladder for a stay in Manchester anyway.”

“Didn't stayed for the night, just had dinner. Perfect for trying Italian food, I don't remember the last time I ate a real risotto. Delicious and cheap.”

“New management since April.2019. Now a great pub with genuine people and friendly staff. LIVE MUSIC (BANDS) most SATURDAYS from about 9PM .. usually good stuff. Sometimes free pool/billiard on Sunday afternoons.”

“Brilliant for stopping over if your at the airport early in the morning as they offer a short shuttle ride to your terminal at no extra charge. Never had breakfast there because of early flights. Rooms are a good size and the bed we stayed in was mega comfy.”

“We have stayed here twice in the past & found Kevin to be the perfect host. How people who have never stayed there can comment on the Springfield based on a TV program says more about them than it does about Kevin. How would they like their business run down by people who have not used it? The room was perfect for our needs & the breakfast more than adequate & cooked exactly to our liking. Kevin even offered to give us a lift to a local club as it was raining. We plan on staying again in the near future as soon as the current situation eases and the Springfield will definitely be our first choice in the area. My advice to anyone thinking of staying here? Read reviews of customers & not sad couch potatoes.”
