Night out events in Manchester

“Firstly my photos are rubbish and don't capture the food as well as it should. Also, I forgot to take photos of the full sea bream in champagne sauce, or the bone marrow served with Pommes Anna, we just got too hungry and forgot! Pig's Head croquette - wonderfully crispy on the outside, with a strong fatty pork flavour which I loved, outstanding! Bone Marrow with Pommes Anna - juicy, delicate, and the mouth feel of the fat coating your tonuge - gorgeous. Needed the salty pommes anna alongside for the perfect mouthful. Charred Hispi cabbage - a nice bitterness and complemented by the deep sauce. Beef shin and kidney rarebit pudding - a stodgy big portion, but the suet was light and crumbly, deep meaty flavours with the kidney not overpowering. This was a meal on its own! Roast duck with port sauce - perfectly cooked, tender and juicy. Sea Bream - whole sea bream which was perfectly roasted, champagne sauce was perhaps a little rich for us by then, but the chive oil did help to balance that out. House fries - nice, but we were stuffed so not really needed! No real complaints, it was busy and we hadn't booked, so we had to sit at the bar which wasn't the most comfortable. The food comes out as its ready which means we were left with the sea bream and fries at the end - would have been better if the order of dishes could have been rearranged, but anyway, this was a great meal. Including three soft drinks, only £92 for all that incredible food! Definitely need to go again!”

“Date of visit: December 2021 Came here for birthday celebrations I had the chicken kebab which was delicious and tender. The kebabs don't come with salad or carb sides so need to order separately. It's bring your own alcohol. Not perfectly wheelchair accessible but managed to get a space onto the table without much fuss over the step. Staff were lovely. Nice decor. Book in advance at busy times.”

“My daughter had a one hour settling in session at her nursery so I came here for a bru with another mum and the cafe was really busy which was a good sign. We sat in and drank out bru, I had a coffee and it was a big cup was lovely and the toilet was clean too will go again. Was a great price also”

“Called in 4 days ago when everywhere was snowed under and the roads were deadly with ice! The absolutely lovely landlady came rushing to the door and guided us into the warmth. She had one of the staff make a hot coffee for my husband free! I bought a lager and lime which was just perfect. While we were there two paramedics called in to use the toilets; and again, the landlady made them both a cup of coffee free of charge! What a lovely, down to earth lady! The other staff were friendly too. Really nice, traditional pub with wonderfully welcoming staff. Highly recommended! ☺️”

“Strines Nightingale shows their is hope for an incredible venue, after death by annexed strangulation, that has been dished out by the corporate drinks industry to the independent pubs in the High Peaks. There’s nowhere you’d rather be locally. The type of place you’ll realise makes you want to relocate to the area. All whilst listening to music worthy of James Ford short. It’s effortless. You won’t be disappointed. A credit to the area.”

“With so many pubs going under, a very refreshing change to see a pub modernised & given a fantastic makeover, add to that an amazing cask & keg beer choice, as well as a well stocked bar ( A great offer when we visited at lunchtime was a £2.00 a pint cask beer) Great friendly staff ( avoided the photo) Well worth finding & give them some custom!”

“Lovely little pub in the heart of Poynton. Good seating area out the front and a covered, well-ventilated area at the back. Good range of beers (weihenstephan my personal favourite) and wine. Cheerful staff, helpful and accommodating. Toilets are always clean. Glad to see it survived lockdown!!”

“Cool bar in Bramhall with an acre ski style vibe. Card only but bring some coins for the juke box to listen to your favourite tunes. Cocktails were good and you get 2 for £10 4 to 7pm Mon to Thursday.”

“I've been to this pub a fair bit but never sampled the roast until last Sunday. We ordered lamb and a vegan roast, and both were the best we have had in our lives. I cannot begin to even describe how tasty this food was. My girlfriend said it was THE best vegan food she's ever had in a restaurant. The staff are also so welcoming and friendly. The delicious food in combination with the ebullient staff really made our day. Thanks guys! This is without a doubt a 10/10”

“What a great traditional pub, we went on poetry night in aid of parkinsons finished off with live music, great choice of beers and very friendly atmosphere, brilliant night”

“Great place. IPA's and cocktails. I had the pineapple and strawberry mojito and it was really good. Nice pics of old Bolton. Really nice how it has been designed. Big chunky wooden tables. Few seats outside too. They do food but haven't had a chance to try yet.”

“Great beer, spirit and wine shop run by 2 very helpful guys. I haven't sampled their wines yet, but the beer choice out back is brilliant. World craft beers from each corner of the globe as well as local ale choices. I'll be asking them for some advice on wine soon and I'm sure they'll give me some good tips. I probably go here a lot more than I should.”

“This was our first escape room experience. We loved it!! The whole set-up was very well run from the briefing video at the start to the photo and lovely hot chocolate at the end. The staff were great. We did Merlin's Magic Academy and it was just at our level (Us two plus our 15 and 10 year old sons) ...we almost made it out within the hour :) Plenty of help during the challenge if required but it flows very well. Looking forward to returning and doing another room soon.”

“Very interesting and great place to go to in Manchester centre . To sit in the bar that has a very good atmosphere with good variety of drinks and friendly staff. If you hungry they serve good food pizzas vegitarians meals and other menus . Also, they play good music and now and then they have good bands and musical events”

“Great laid back cinema with comfy seating. You can get Pizza and beer to take into the film, perfect! Has an arcade and ten pin bowling attached and always has a great atmosphere! Staff are friendly and love dressing up for the latest releases! There were some sights for Avatar!”

“Amazing range of vendors and has a bar itself, they're rarely ever not some kind of amazing event on, or interesting food / drink stalls, I've been there for both a cider event and The Rib Man, both of which I've left happy.”
