We didn't have to wait long for the food we ordered which was cooked perfect and served piping hot. Along with a few of JWL finest beers, overall a very nice experience and we will definitely be back. A very well managed pub.”

“I've given this five stars because the DJ that was on that night was brilliant. I was on soft drinks and don't really like dancing but I danced all night. I have only been here once before, years ago but the atmosphere is much better now. I felt that the last time I was here, everyone seemed very tense as though it was going to kick off any minute. It's more relaxed and friendly now and I would definitely come back.”

“I was staying locally due to work and just stopped in for one drink. Feel I have to give a little more context...... Setting the scene..... Flash back to a very autumnal day in Manchester.. Let's call our heroine Emma 30ish blonde and beautiful. Calls in after a hard day's toil at the dream factory. Was greeted by the kindly bar serving folk dispencing brew fit for kings and Queens. I was set to leave when the jester walked in saying music and dancing would follow. Lady Emma danced and sang the night away. Even though she was unguarded Emma never once felt she was alone and was welcomed so much by the amazing folk of the Top Derby I felt I had to post this fitting tribute. X”

Lovely atmosphere with a charming young bartender called Joshua who is a very witty individual to say the least and had my sister in stitches all night! “Wow its 30years since I was in there it was fantastic took my brother neil both man's United boys I live in St annes lancshire now my brother neil has sadly lost half of his left leg he does not get out much so had to visit our past drinking pub me coffee neil lager. “Great pub - genius idea - proper immaculate Victorian boozer (superb architecture) - as a student union bar. Tucked away amidst the increasingly impressive high rise MMU campus - it's a real oasis with decent ale and well priced grub (Inc selection of Pie Minister specials). Nice touch with a blue plaque inside commemorating Frank Side Bottom's last go. Well worth checking out.”

“I have always loved this pub and living in Sale we like to walk over via the water park. The pub is dog friendly as are we and the gentleman behind the bar tonight at 18.00 was very helpful and friendly. The locals seem very content in the pleasant surroundings and were happy to chat. Great local pub with a good feel to it. Nice in the seating area out the back today, comfortable and quiet.”
