“After a recommendation from my daughter I booked The Cottage. What a wonderful find. Great place to stay so clean and comfortable. Lovely woodfire makes it so cosy. Accommodation is great. The bedroom is very comfortable and you can see the stars when in bed. There is also a single room with twin beds. The garden is lovely my two dogs loved it and I knew they were safe as it is well fenced. Lovely walks round the area. After my weeks stay I felt so relaxed and can't wait to go back. A great find.”

“Have only visited here for breakfast. Has to be the best independent café, I have visited in Glossop. Staff are really friendly. Food is five star couldn’t ask for more. The only criticism I would have is there is not many tables, but it’s what I think makes unique.”

She was so reassuring, friendly, super knowledgeable and put me at ease immediately. “Our beloved local curry takeaway. Everyone has an opinion on local takeaways, often varied but I can say factually that we have used Taj Balti for about 7 years and have been consistently happy with the quality, generosity of portions, friendly and helpful service, thoughtful touches. My partner is a fussy eater who will stick to what he likes and he rates their vegetable samber as among the best, also their raita, naan, lamb hoppers and chicken pakoras are particularly good. Plenty of interesting dishes to try from chef's special menu if you are a bit more adventurous than my partner. Better value than the other Indian / Bangladeshi takeaways in Glossop without compromising quality.”

“A new little furniture gem in Glossop. The owner, Elizabeth, is lovely and very knowledgeable. She also offers interior design service which I will definitely be using once moved to glossop. Great shop and much more choice available from the catalogues.”

“Well, where do I start. It’s great here. Great but… Just a few negatives. Or development points - Only 1 free pint. Pitiful. - my drinking partner made me hurry my drink. I’ll drink when I’m ready. - not enough staff smelled of disinfectant - the noise was too ambient - it wasn’t overpriced enough - the mistletoe was too high - too many urinal cakes - the lady with grey beard behind the bar had a ‘ghost of Christmas past’ vibe Other than that a really pleasant experience. The right amount of gas and stemmed beer glasses too. 6 out of 5 for me.”

“I honestly can't speak highly enough of Mount View Farm Kennels and Cattery. Gill and her team looked after our three dogs for a long period whilst we had a family situation to deal with. We were given frequent updates with pictures on how well they were doing and we felt completely comfortable with having our dogs stay there for so long. Gill and the team went above and beyond, accommodating trips to the vets on our behalf, due to our personal circumstances not being able to, as well as the everyday dog walks, play time, bath time and of course, feeding time. Thank you Gill and your wonderful team. You really are brilliant.”

“The Balti Palace has been a hidden gem in the heart of Glossop for many many years. The food is absolutely amazing and the staff are bubbly, down to earth and friendly. The chef is superb and his style of cooking is authentic Indian. Great blend of fresh spices makes dishes taste that much more special. The owner is a very sweet humble and down to earth man with monumental people skills. This is deffo a hidden gem and its time that this great restaurant received the exposure it deserves and people come and try the amazing rich and flavourful food they have to offer. “Not often you really get 5* service but this is our experience over 3 jobs. Our main kitchen has over 30 units and 9 appliances. The design and layout was tricky but they got it right. The supply and installation was seamless and nothing was too much trouble. Our kitchen looks fantastic and is now, the social hub of our home. The quality of fixtures and fittings is excellent and the experience from start to finish was just great. Thanks to Gary and his team, we have a cracking kitchen to enjoy for years to come.
