The Salutation Pub
“Great pub - genius idea - proper immaculate Victorian boozer (superb architecture) - as a student union bar. Tucked away amidst the increasingly impressive high rise MMU campus - it's a real oasis with decent ale and well priced grub (Inc selection of Pie Minister specials). Nice touch with a blue plaque inside commemorating Frank Side Bottom's last go. Well worth checking out.”
Colosseo
“We had a lovely early evening meal here this week. We went into this restaurant on the off chance, we were accomodated. The staff were attentive without being overbearing, the pasta was gorgeous, we would recommend this restaurant, and have already. The prices were also good. Overall a very pleasant experience, hence the 5 stars. Thank you.”
The Swan Inn
“Very lovely pub. Lovely waitress called Evie who did a fab job. She was cool. Hope to see her again soon. Great food, exquisite! Very clean and tidy, could lick the floors and it would taste clean!!”
Hare & Hounds Mill Brow
“Excellent food, nice cosy atmosphere with an open fire. This is not a standard Robinsons food pub, it has local fresh produce prepared by a good chef, with nice little extras. Staff are always polite and the best thing for us is that we can go somewhere for an excellent meal with our dog, as they welcome dogs and always ask if you want water for your dog. Since we moved to the area a couple of years ago it is our favourite place to eat out without leaving our furry friend home alone.”
Pack Horse Inn
“Stayed here for 2 nights. Very comfortable room, spotlessly clean bathroom. We had an evening meal in the restaurant and the food was lovely and the service was brilliant. The staff were very friendly and helpful. All in all this was perfect accommodation. Would definitely recommend.”
Malt Disley
“I don't drink so I always have coffee, my coffee was spot on and as a bonus there was a choice of chocolate biscuits, yum yum, staff very pleasant place spotless definitely would be first port of call if I lived in Disley which is only a mile or so from Stockport and a bit more to Buxton a good starting point for walkers, with Lyme park a few yards down the road”
Withington Public Hall Institute
“Went here on a Sunday and enjoyed the plant based lunch immensely! Lovely salads and fritata were on offer, which my husband and I both thought were the best things we'd eaten out for a long time. Also lovely craft ale on sale, way better than anything else I've drunk in Withington for a long time!”
Tandle Hill
“Lovely little place to spend an hour just walking the humans. There are many paths to take, some easy and others more suited to us of the four legs persuasion. I definitely think I'll be taking my humans here again! Coffee and toasted sandwiches at the café are an ideal end to the walk!”
The Roebuck Inn
“I come here now and again, the food is pretty good and reasonably priced. The beer garden is great, it has amazing sunsets and a nice play area”
The Devonshire Arms
“Myself and friends had a marvellous few hours in the beer garden yesterday ~ the food was delicious and the beer was great. Would also like to mention how lovely the staff are, particularly lovely George”
Harvey Leonard's Wine & Ale
“Well, where do I start. It’s great here. Great but… Just a few negatives. Or development points - Only 1 free pint. Pitiful. - my drinking partner made me hurry my drink. I’ll drink when I’m ready. - not enough staff smelled of disinfectant - the noise was too ambient - it wasn’t overpriced enough - the mistletoe was too high - too many urinal cakes - the lady with grey beard behind the bar had a ‘ghost of Christmas past’ vibe Other than that a really pleasant experience. The right amount of gas and stemmed beer glasses too. 6 out of 5 for me.”
Royal Oak
“A proper "old school" pub. Refreshing change from what's around these days. Great locals, decent Sunday roast and other food. Brilliant staff.”
The Bulls Head
“Excellent pub with a genuine friendly welcome and atmosphere. A proper country pub with low beams, flagged floors, real fires and always a great choice of locally brewed real ales. Rightfully very popular. A real gem, well worth a visit.”
Ye Olde Man & Scythe
“Always love going, the first Bar I bring my friends to that are outside of Bolton when visiting for a Fruit of the Forest specifically as the introduction to the bar. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.”
The Nevison Country Inn
“friendly staff, very welcoming. Food was tremendous, well cooked, tasty and well worth the visit. Good pint and reasonably priced. will definitely be back to try the Sunday roast.”
Diggle Lock
“Great place, I’m so glad we found it this time. Google maps sends you to a road in Shaw. So ensure you type in the actual address when wanting to come here and not click directions from google :) it will save you a 20 mins drive lol Great service, food is top notch, prices are good with a great atmosphere. Definitely will be back. They have gluten free bread. Although not celiac friendly, as the kitchen is not set up for A gluten free station. They did ensure the bread was grilled away from the areas wheat had touched. Kids menu available and also a Dog menu too. The staff were really helpful.”
Peels Arms
“Family run pub with amazing food and a fantastic selection of drinks. If you're looking for a good night out with welcoming staff and locals or a really nice meal, I honestly can't recommend this place enough. The food is all cooked in house and sourced locally, you can really tell a lot of passion goes into the kitchen here.”
Royal Oak
“Always a great place to watch the footie with the lads. Back garden area has been transformed into an excellent and covered beer garden with TVs for watching the footie in the sunshine if you like”
The Buxton Inn
“Food is beautiful. The staff are very accommodating. I love the fact that u can have English or Thai food. It was all lovely”
Worsley Old Hall
“Absolutely lovely pub, very nice exterior and interior. Made a last minute decision to come for Sunday roast, and despite the restaurant being fully booked, they were more than happy to accommodate us in the bar area. Food came out fairly quickly and it was absolutely delicious. A decent sized portion and every part of it was tasty! Will definitely come again to try other items on the menu.”
Butchers Arms
“Fab warm welcoming pub”
Cross Keys Inn
“Fantastic lamb roast in a lovely pub with lots of character and great views. The staff are really welcoming and service is fantastic. A lovely place to spend a Sunday afternoon.”
The Olde Town House
“Great NYE, disco, food and surprise bag piper! Well done to the team.”
Arden Arms
“We visited today as we were on a dog walk in the area, and ended up at the pub for lunch. It's a great pub! Fabulous staff and lovely food. Dogs are allowed inside which is great for us. My son loved the play area too. We'll be back! Thank you”
Crown Inn
“Friendly atmosphere, great company and good ale - everything you could ask for in a local”
The Arden Arms
“Ric's first visit to this great Robinson's pub. A regular in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide. Famous for the food. Sunday roast at £10.50 gets really busy. .. Already busy at 12.30 on a cold February Wednesday afternoon. Yasser Arafic having a great pint of Dizzy Blond. Ric on Veltins. Fantastic heritage interior and a good beer garden. Found just off the market next to ASDA car park entrance. Well worth a visit. I like their music as well.”
