The cafe is also a gem, serving great coffee and a selection of cakes, sandwiches etc. Little pricey, but it is rapha after all! There is usually some cycling on the big screens, and a nice atmosphere. The window bar seats are a great place to people watch over King Street.”

“Popped into M&S Sunday needed flowers and chocolates for my wife’s birthday. The staff were very friendly and when I came to the checkout it was a bit busy so I went to self checkout. Not switched on to that system but a lovely lady called Carol whisked it through for me, she was great, service with a smile! My wife rates M&S and I can see why. We’ll done Carol!”

“An ideal place to go with teenage children for a birthday meal. There is plenty to choose from on the menu and the food is very good. I like being able to choose my own sauce from the side counter and to top up on soft drinks. We all enjoyed it and the food was reasonably priced. We will definitely be going back.”

Iceland is the original frozen food specialist, started back in the 1970's and one famous gentleman , who I understand used to turn up at any of his 400 stores randomly in his helicopter with a suitcase full of cash to give to the staff as a thank you for all their hard work ! . “Great shop, Iceland need to staff it propery, there was an incident of theft, yet the staff couldn't get the stock back as understaffed. Come on Iceland, the savings in preventing theft must pay and extra member of staffs wages. We have security in a smaller Little Hulton store yet not in the larger Walkden store. Madness!”

“Best welcome ever. This is an older premier inn,with actual keys. After a nightmare flight back from Frankfurt we arrived tired and annoyed but the guy at the front desk and the manageress in the back room just made our day. Both kind, friendly and chatty 10 out of 10. Even gave us 2 little bottles of wine. Unbelievable but what a random act of kindness. Yes the hotel is old but it's clean, beds still comfy, room has everything you need and staff on hand. Location is walkable into handforth which has pubs, restaurants and take aways. Location feels very safe. 10 minutes easy drive to the airport. Thanks.”
