“Friendly busy pub. Always a smile at the bar. Welcoming locals to the "comers in". Sporting events advertised on Facebook so you know what's coming up so you can get chance to make your excuses to the wife (or husband) for missing the family event in advance. Nice beer garden to the rear.”

“What an unexpected surprise! Spontaneously went for dinner on Saturday evening. They found us a table in the upstairs area which was lovely. Food was delicious and the service was attentive and helpful. We returned to the downstairs bar for cocktails. All the little details made it a lovely place and we had a wonderful evening. “We had a fantastic couple of nights at The Lamb Inn - such a cosy and welcoming pub with excellent service and delicious food. The bed was so comfy and the room was brilliantly equipped, and a great location for visiting different parts of the Peaks. The roast dinner on Sunday and the cooked breakfasts were a definite highlight for us and we would love to come back again! Thank you for making us feel so welcome and looked after :)”

“Small local pub (Circus Tavern next door even smaller. ) Located in heart of the city. Refreshing change from the trendy bars. Been many times. Good Hydes beer but limited selection due to size. Toilets to rear in what was once an uncovered alley. Many years sgo the local Police foot patrol would pop in for a cheeky pint in said alley.”

They kept our booth for us for the afternoon and wouldn't take payment for the drink we had whilst waiting until we returned later and they put it on the final bill.
