“We visit Rock Salt on a regular basis and have always leave with a very positive experience. The cafe bar has such a lovely vibe and the staff are always pleasant and welcoming. A special mention goes to Vera whose commitment to the business is both obvious and outstanding. Steve is also a lovely and hard working member of staff. Jamie has a great command of the kitchen … the team turns out food of a consistently high standard and we always thoroughly enjoy our meals there. “We were driving through Uppermill and stopped for a look around. We listened to the Brass band playing outside the Legion, popped into a few of the shops, bought some wares and on route back to the car park stepped into the Hare & Hounds. It was quieter than the other pubs we had passed, the combination of old look furniture and new look paint work still leaves the impression with a pleasant nostalgic feel to the past. The two female bar staff were lovely and friendly, as were the locals we spoke to. Very pleased we dropped in on a whim, I hasten to add the driver had a lime and soda. Look forward to dropping by again.”

“Our new favourite pub. We're not big drinkers and don't normally go to pubs on a regular basis but would go on occasion on baby free nights. We saw an ad for this place by chance on facebook for the quiz on sundays hosted by Elliott. It's a great electronic quiz and you get supper from Sunday's leftovers included in the price of the quiz which is £1. It's on Sundays from 7.30pm and usually finished by 9.30. The past few weeks we've have the leftover Ham from the roast dinner on sandwiches and Chilli con Carne with Rice. Drinks are also reasonably priced and the main menu food is delicious too, but make aure to order before the kitchen closes at 6.45 if you need to eat before the quiz starts.”

“Large pub serving the usual beers lagers etc ,great atmosphere when I visited with karaoke on at the time, staff were very friendly and efficient and a nice decor with some areas with comfy sofas ,located on the junction of Hyde Road and Ashton Road at Crown Point Denton, served by stagecoach buses from Hyde Ashton under lyne and Manchester being the 201 202 344 345 and 347. With bus stops from all directions less than 2 minutes walk, pop in have pint or 2.”

“Great pub - genius idea - proper immaculate Victorian boozer (superb architecture) - as a student union bar. Tucked away amidst the increasingly impressive high rise MMU campus - it's a real oasis with decent ale and well priced grub (Inc selection of Pie Minister specials). Nice touch with a blue plaque inside commemorating Frank Side Bottom's last go. Well worth checking out.”

“Zanete was so helpful when planning the buffet for my birthday party. Its a great room, nicely decorated with plenty of seating. We were lucky with the weather and able to sit on the outside decking, again plenty of seating. Great atmosphere and all staff friendly and helpful. The buffet was delicious, everyone commented how tasty it was. Thank Zanete for all your help.”

“Stayed for two nights as part of the New Year's Eve Gala Dinner package. Staff were excellent. Signature room we stayed in was very comfortable and modern. Food at breakfast, dinner and the NYE dinner all really excellent indeed. Nice temperature in the swimming pool and even nicer in the outdoor hot tub! Can't really fault this place and so would highly recommend a stay here.”

“Stopped off for a quick bite to eat after a day out. We were served quickly and within a reasonable amount of time. The food was good quality, the only little tiny gripe would be the burger patty could have done with being a little flatter (see photo) and filling more of the bun, tasted great though. Prices are competitive with rival brands in the market.”

“I gave it 5 stars because it is nostalgic to me. It was my Dads pub in the 60s, I seem to recall it was his second home. The first time I went in was my last day in school at Bishop Greer on Taylor st. I was promptly marched out. My last visit was in the 80s whilst on leave from the Army. I love the Vulcan but the locals used to call it "The Monkey".”

“We used the reception room at the back which was lovely, decor is modern an looks newly refurbished. Industrial look with scaffolding pole and planks to make the table, comfy chairs. Everything was super clean. Staff very friendly and constantly looking after us.”

Only criticism I can think of, which is a small one if that, is that the main or most commonly used sauces like ketchup, should be available on the tables”

“Just got back from a one night stay and it was excellent. The room was spotlessly clean, the staff were extremely helpful. After a long drive up from Bristol it was perfect to pop next door and have a couple of beers. The breakfast was great, they catered for the vegetarians amongst us with no problems.
