“Lovely place - excellent coffee, food and service. Coming from my home country where brunch of such quality will cost a lot more, this place serves great value. This can also be evidenced by the strong student crowd. Will come again!”

“Called in 4 days ago when everywhere was snowed under and the roads were deadly with ice! The absolutely lovely landlady came rushing to the door and guided us into the warmth. She had one of the staff make a hot coffee for my husband free! I bought a lager and lime which was just perfect. While we were there two paramedics called in to use the toilets; and again, the landlady made them both a cup of coffee free of charge! What a lovely, down to earth lady! The other staff were friendly too. Really nice, traditional pub with wonderfully welcoming staff. Highly recommended! ☺️”

“I don't drink so I always have coffee, my coffee was spot on and as a bonus there was a choice of chocolate biscuits, yum yum, staff very pleasant place spotless definitely would be first port of call if I lived in Disley which is only a mile or so from Stockport and a bit more to Buxton a good starting point for walkers, with Lyme park a few yards down the road”

“Strines Nightingale shows their is hope for an incredible venue, after death by annexed strangulation, that has been dished out by the corporate drinks industry to the independent pubs in the High Peaks. There’s nowhere you’d rather be locally. The type of place you’ll realise makes you want to relocate to the area. All whilst listening to music worthy of James Ford short. It’s effortless. You won’t be disappointed. A credit to the area.”

“It's a great locals pub, The landlord is clearly trying hard! The pub has regular changing cask ales and a good choice at the bar, but if this pub is not supported like so many others all this will be wasted! Support or lose! Check opening times & go and enjoy a few drinks in a great pub.”

“Went here on a Sunday and enjoyed the plant based lunch immensely! Lovely salads and fritata were on offer, which my husband and I both thought were the best things we'd eaten out for a long time. Also lovely craft ale on sale, way better than anything else I've drunk in Withington for a long time!”

“This place reminds me by the style to the Holy Mountain Brewery in Seattle. A nice brewery spot. Simple furniture just for hanging around and talk while enjoying one of the tasty beers. No food is served, except crisps.”

“I've been to this pub a fair bit but never sampled the roast until last Sunday. We ordered lamb and a vegan roast, and both were the best we have had in our lives. I cannot begin to even describe how tasty this food was. My girlfriend said it was THE best vegan food she's ever had in a restaurant. The staff are also so welcoming and friendly. The delicious food in combination with the ebullient staff really made our day. Thanks guys! This is without a doubt a 10/10”

“This is what a pub should be. Great Ale served at the table, great conversation where everyone joins in, no muzak, no telly, no slots, no lager louts And its now changed, there inverted mushrooms on the ceiling to dampen the non existing sound that reaches the ears of the idiot upstairs.”

“Great place. IPA's and cocktails. I had the pineapple and strawberry mojito and it was really good. Nice pics of old Bolton. Really nice how it has been designed. Big chunky wooden tables. Few seats outside too. They do food but haven't had a chance to try yet.”

“Me and the Mrs went on steak night and were blown away by the quality of the food and service. Initially got a chipped wine glass but when sorted the wine was beautiful and the steak out of this world. The chef was kind enough to give us the ingredients to the anchovy butter sauce that we can't wait to replicate. Not to be missed !”
