“Had a great experience here last night with friends. There was 4 of us and 2 babies… they made sure they gave us a table with plenty of space for the pushchairs and were very accommodating. The staff were super friendly and attentive. Food was delicious and had a good atmosphere... also felt it was very reasonable price wise. There was also a few parking spots out the front too! Will definitely be visiting again!”

“A fantastic little restaurant almost hidden in the village. The outside is quite nondescript but once in you are welcomed warmly by all the staff. Some amazing dishes on the menu including their bruschetta rustica and the sea bass. Staff were quick, friendly and attentive.”

“We love going to the Jovial. The team are always absolutely lovely and go out of their way to make you feel as welcome as possible. We popped down for Mother's Day and enjoyed the carvery with a group of 14. Big shout out to James for helping with our numerous table size adjustments (and always with a smile), and to Mark for the food which was absolutely top notch!”

“My wife and I have visited the Crown and Anchor on a few occasions since the new owners have taken over and always had a lovely time but have never sampled the food. On Saturday 1st October we booked lunch with 9 family members to get together for my dads birthday who we sadly lost 13 years ago. The food was out of this world, all home cooked. I had the cheese burger which I have to say was up there with the best I have ever had. Lasagna, pizzas, Halloumi burger and the liver and bacon were ordered (dads favourite, which my mum had and said was incredible, her words). Everyone said how amazing their food was. (Kids food was great too). The beers we ordered were perfect, these guys really do know what they are doing.m when it comes to pouring the perfect pint. Can’t rate and thank Wendy and her team highly enough. Nothing was too much, we really did feel like royalty. The tribute to dad was incredible. It was the perfect place to go with Wendy and her Husband Marco being Crystal Palace fans as so are we as a family. Wendy put a palace scarf on the table and put a pint there for dad. It’s these sort of touches that mean so much. We told them we would be bringing our German Shepherd with us and we couldn’t believe what they did, a lovely bed at the end of the table for him to chill in. We also ordered a lovely dinner for him which he really enjoyed. Such a lovely dog friendly pub. The play kids area is amazing, kept the little ones entertained for ages. Wendy even set up an art and craft table for the two little ones while we had our lunch as they had theirs first, again kept them entertained. She ended up being like the pied piper with all the kids in the pub following her around. She took them down to the river that runs along the back of the amazing garden to feed the ducks and swans. So way and above. Again, thank you so much guys for the most amazing afternoon, we really can’t thank you enough. I urge everyone to try this pub, you will not be disappointed. And lastly let’s not forget the barman (sorry, didn’t catch your name), amazing service, always remembered each round and couldn’t do enough for us. One last thing, The Crown and Anchor take food allergies really seriously, there are no nuts on the premises, so if any of you have an allergy, another reason to try this wonderful pub. “Wonderful pub with great food, eaten in there with Friends a few times and always left happy the food is excellent as is the beer, I Normally go for the BBQ chicken wings with chips and I must say absolutely delicious and the pub has a good atmosphere and very friendly staff, we normally eat there at lunch during the week so not too busy, perfect, great pub.”

“First visit today to meet a friend for breakfast. They have a nice selection of breakfast options on the menu all freshly cooked once ordered. The staff were very nice and we had a warm welcome when we arrived. The service was excellent and very attentive. The food was very good and generous portion sizes, You also get unlimited toast and preserves with your order though we couldn't eat too much of that as the main meal was so filling. It was reasonably priced too, there were 4 of us and it worked out at £9 per head when the bill came. Will certainly go again we had a nice visit and a good first experience.”

“Held a wake here recently and all the staff were helpful, friendly and efficient. We felt very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The buffet we had was lovely and there was a good range. We were provided with take away boxes for the left overs. Will definitely visit again to try the hot food.”
