Warming atmosphere in Woodford Green

“Visited for the first time on a Wednesday evening as a group of 4 friends, with the purpose of seeing Rob Lamberti (who is the best George Michael/Wham tribute act out there-that’s a whole other review!) This venue is like a tardis, with a long/ split ground floor level, large function room and a contemporary outside seated area too, with and 3 bars in total. Spotlessly clean, with an very aesthetically pleasing decor. The whole venue must be newly refurbished as nothing looks tired or worn and there are very stylish black and white pictures of famous faces covering all of the walls. The bar staff are super friendly and very welcoming and the owner Christine is just a delight! We left after a very pleasant 4 hours feeling like we had made a new friend. The house Prosecco was delicious and the pizza’s served in the function room were perfectly cooked, reasonable in price and arrived promptly. Wholeheartedly recommend this venue, if we lived more locally I know we would be regulars. Parking was easy for us as we found a space in the station a 30 second walk away, but otherwise it is street parking. There are large TV’s there showing all of the must see sporting action too. The venue was absolutely buzzing and a very good evening was had by all! Wednesday is definitely our new Friday after a visit to the Seasons bar this week!”

“Popped in, with no previous experience of the pub and not having been in Woodford for 20 years or so. Surprise, the pub was welcoming, light banter as much on tap as a range of beers and lagers. Well worthy a visit.”

“Excellent cafe with extremely friendly and courteous staff. I had the Turkish Menemen which was absolutely epic. Fantastic portion, lovely warm buttered bread, chips, a nice salad what more could I ask for? I requested to make the Menemen spicy and they made it to my taste and it was sublime. Will definitely come back and be a regular. I ask others, if you want a Turkish slap up breakfast in Woodford, you must come here. It will remind you of the Med and you will be extremely pleased.”

“Best Barbers in Town by far , I take all three of my boys here as they won’t go anywhere else , always fantastic cuts , my eldest has really thick curly hair and Sam cuts it superb , Stuart and Tim both amazing barbers too . I have three very happy boys , 5 star Barbers ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Sat inside and had teas and coffees while we chatted away to family members that had visited from Manchester - we were never made to feel like we should be 'rushing' through our drinks and vacating our table ASAP. “A local gem! South Woodford best kept secret - a lovely brunch spot with delicious food and great atmosphere. We will be back! This time we tried poached eggs on avocado toast (they were amazing) and steak baguette (one of the best hot sandwiches we have had in London). For sides we had frites and halloumi - both delicious (honestly, a simple side dish but worth mentioning given how good it was!)”

“Ordered a take out meal last night from Jaipur Chigwell. Excellent meal exactly as we ordered and arrived hot, although we had to wait nearly an hour, this wasn't a problem to us and was explained before we ordered. We have visited the restaurant many times but don't order take out very often. We weren't disappointed and will definitely order take out again, hopefully soon, maybe visit the restaurant!”

“I’ve been to many Turkish restaurants in London and I have to say that this ranks at the top. The chicken was extremely soft and juicy, the lamb chops and lamb sish were cooked to perfection and the Adana had interesting herbs. Overall the meat was very juicy. I’d recommend mixed grill as the main and the Hummus with Lamb as the starters. Also their garlic and Chili sauce was very good!”

“Great choice for takeaway, but we decided to have a sit in meal in this small and cosy establishment. Wonderfully fun ladies cooking and serving us. And the food was delicious and authentic. My friend's beef Pad Thai was a little chewy, but my beef Masamam was excellent and succulent. They just need to bump up the 3 star hygiene rating to draw in more punters.”

“What a great afternoon we had with 5 kids and food was great limited menu due to chef being on paternity leave but decided to stay for lunch it was amazing. “I've only ordered off Uber Eats so far but the food is incredible. I've had two different bento boxes, the beef teriyaki and the chicken teriyaki. Both were really great. Good value for money, tasty, and filling. The Japanese wings and bubble tea are pretty good too. I would recommend it to everyone. Going to keep trying things from here including the sushi.”

“We used to live nearby for a few years and never went there, although had heard good things about it. Then one evening off the cuff, we gave it a try and have been regulars ever since. There are very few Indian restaurants that are pretty full all week, so I always make a point of booking. We are always well looked after with a very reasonable bill and excellent food. They've been there over 30 years, so they must have got it right and I believe the decor is the original, so it's like going back to the past although no flock wallpaper, but magnificent portions. Usually crowded with nice customers. Highly recommended. Just booked for tomorrow now.”

“This was my first visit with my son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter. They have just moved into the area and I was visiting. The lunch, I had the large fish & chips which in fact was very large and was very nice indeed. I was driving so had a soft drink. The service was very pleasant and efficient. It was not over busy on our visit but was very enjoyable. I understand this is going to be my sons local which I think he will be happy with. I look forward to visiting again. I will certainly give it the extra star rating. Hope to see you soon.”

“I have been going to this nail salon since 2018 when I moved to Woodford and it is the best. Gel polish lasts at least 2-3 weeks and service is always professional.”
