The Village
● Open95 Fulham Palace Road, London W6 8JA, United Kingdom“Firstly, I would like to say that Somali cuisine is a delicious and unique blend of flavors, influenced by the country's location on the Indian Ocean and the Somali people's nomadic lifestyle. The food is often made with simple and fresh ingredients, resulting in dishes that are both hearty and healthy. Upon entering the restaurant, I was immediately struck by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The decor was simple yet elegant, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The aroma of spices and grilled meats filled the air, making my mouth water in anticipation. For appetizers, I tried the sambuus, which were deliciously crispy and filled with a savory mixture of ground beef and spices. I also ordered the Maraq, a traditional Somali soup which was extremely flavorful and refreshing. For my main course, I decided to try the lamb shank, which was served with a generous portion of fragrant basmati rice. The meat was rich and flavorful, with tender chunks of lamb meat that fell apart in my mouth. The spices were perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of heat to give the dish a little kick. Overall, I would highly recommend this Somali restaurant to anyone looking to try something new and delicious. The food was fresh, flavorful, and made with care, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I will definitely be coming back again”
