NUGS Hornchurch
● Closed“Came here as saw it on Instagram that they're were taking up residency in the Garrison in Chelmsford. This was the BEST meal me and my boyfriend have had in a long time. We got the sharer platter which was a great price for all the food you got and a chance to try lots of different nuggets. Everything was exceptional! The owner was really friendly and even gave us a 10% discount card! Would 100% recommend and will be visiting frequently!”

TukTuk Hornchurch
● Open“Honestly one of the best take aways I’ve ever been to!!! The flavours are soooo good and authentic! The pad Thai with beef was just so delicious, beef was so soft and I could still taste all the flavours of the pad thai in my mouth! The boa buns were just the perfect texture, I recommend the chicken, the contrast in texture between the bun and the fried chicken was just perfect. Overall 10/10 I would definitely recommend. The customer service was also great, which is the cherry on top for me. Will be returning soon.”

The Hop Inn Micropub
● Open122 North Street, Hornchurch RM11 1SU, United Kingdom“As you maybe aware I’m a big foodie who loves dining out in the finest of restaurants. But when it comes to choosing wine we either go for the countries that we know or we leave it to the recommendations of the sommeliers. So with this in mind we wanted to broaden our horizons let’s say by learning more about wine in general ie taste , smell , tannins , acidity etc. with the additional knowledge of knowing what wine wine is good value for money and which style of wine goes with which style of food. So we gave it some thought and approached our good friend and drinks expert Alison Taffs at the Hop Inn Hornchurch our local micro pub to see what she thought and because it was only going to be the two of us if it would be worth her while. But after a little chat we discussed a budget so it would make her time and effort worthwhile. We gave her a couple of weeks to put together a format and gather some wines to taste and talk about. This led us to sunday when our tasting would take place. We arrived at the Hop Inn and our table was laid out in the corner. You could see straight away that Alison had put a lot of effort into this to which we were very grateful. She had laid out tasting note sheets , an iPad screen displaying various information and a list of the six wines we would be tasting. She decided that we should keep the discussion to european wines and in particular Portugal , France , Austria & Germany. Her knowledge was incredible as she guided us through the different stages of tasting wine. This begins with appearance which will include the colour. This is followed by smell , condition , intensity and the character. Then it’s time to taste to find out if the wine is sweet or dry as well as how much acidity , length , body and tannins. To finish you would decide what type of food you would match the wine with. We followed this by talking about pricing and what wines from specific regions when you look at a wine list are good value for money. This information really was invaluable and will certainly help us in the future. We’d personally like to thank Alison for a fabulous wine tasting afternoon. To listen to her knowledge and passion really was a pleasure and we definitely got more out of this than we first thought. I would highly recommend if your interested in wine to arrange a session yourselves whether your a couple like us or a larger group you will certainly benefit from her vast experience in the industry. We’re certainly looking forward to booking another session with her soon”

The Waffle Bar
● Closed“Visited yesterday approx 1pm on a Monday, as a couple, our first time, and it was excellent! Was really quite busy, which was great to see, but can also understand why. Nice ambiance, friendly staff, lovely design of the place and all crockery. Food was really fresh, perfectly priced and timed perfectly. Great menu, we had a tea each, bacon syrup waffles and chicken, pesto toastie. Nice range of ages in there too, friends getting together, family afternoon teas, couples and generally people out for lunch. 100% recommend, and will be back.”

Reina Meze Grill
● Open“We have been to this restaurant twice now and each time the service and friendly staff led by Sybil was fantastic. The team and Sybil are very attentive and the food is beautiful. The restaurant is clean very spacious and has beautiful decor . The prices are extremely competitive to other Turkish restaurants we have been too in Hornchurch. We live in Emerson park and this restaurant is very convenient to walk to. It surly is making an impact in Hornchurch as the restaurant was busy today . It is child friendly and there are disabled access and a disabled toilet . We sat outside and it was very hot sunshine but the canopies made good shade and comfortable seating. In fact we have booked again with Sybil today for the bank holiday weekend to go back as it is my wife’s birthday . We highly recommend this super restaurant. Thank you Sybil and team Ian & sharon”

Tunch Kitchen
● Closed“Only one other table eating when we arrived mid-afternoon for our first visit to Tunch Kitchen on a lovely bank holiday Monday. We ordered the Turkish wine, which was gorgeous and were given some tasty, warm flatbreads with dips (one garlic and one chilli). We ordered from the set two course menu at £9.50 per person. Each of the meals were really delicious and portions sizes were quite big. We were offered more bread and dips with the main and were given a complementary dessert to share. Theo, our waiter, was brilliant and the decor and ambience were great. Will definitely be going back again very soon!”

Poseidons Fishbar
● Closed“I tried the Fish & Chips for the first time at Poseidons and I was pleasantly surprised. 10/10. I called them to place an order for 1 Large Cod and Regular Chips, asking the proprietor can you cook me a fresh cod with my chips, and he said, no problem, there’ll be ready in 10 mins. Just long enough for me to walk to Poseidons from where I live. I enjoyed them very much and will be ordering the same again, when I don’t feel like cooking at home. Highly recommend, and the customer service was top notch, very welcoming and kind. :)”
