“A friendly, off-the beaten track local pub, serving great ales direct from the cask. Very traditional interior, and the locals are engaged in funny conversations and banter. This was a great pit stop on our long walk. I think this was how all pubs used to be - a genuine meeting place rather than somewhere to extract money out of you - I hope it never changes!”

Smiley faces and big welcomes as soon as you step through the door and the quality continues right through each course until you decide to leave after a couple of pints and warning up by the fire. “Went here on a Thursday for a sisters night out. Got to say, was definitely not disappointed with this little gem! The staff were really lovely and couldn't do enough for you. Very polite and attentive. Very relaxed atmosphere with nice decor. Food was amazing; we had salt and pepper chicken and squid (highly recommend) with noodles, rice, two chicken dishes and duck with pancakes etc. A little more pircey than the typical Asian cuisine but definitely worth it considering the quality. Was not greasy whatsoever, just very tasteful and unique. They also let you take home anything that you don't finish, which is an added bonus. Will 100% come back for another meal and I look forward to it! Thank you so much for a great evening!”

“Absolutely lovely. Small beautiful old hotel. Grounds kept well. Whole place maintained well. Staff attentive. Good choice of food for breakfast. Evening dining..food was tasty full plate. Bar area relaxing. Bedroom clean. Plenty of toiletries shower cap etc. Soundproof room and the bed is comfy not like a brick! Would definitely stay again.”

“This is the cafe on the Knole Park Estate (National Trust). You have to book to park. The cafe is, as usual for NT, wonderful. Excellent bacon bap and coffe first thing in the morning. In October the stags are rutting so its very exciting. Lovely long walks.”
