When the time came to take my son for his first haircut it was quite a stressful occasion but Harry kept a cool head and helped to keep my son calm and comfortable at all times. “Great cycle stop! Staff opened the back gate to let me bring my bike into the courtyard, offered to bring my order to my table (carrying a tray in cycling shoes isn’t easy!) and even filled up my water bottle. Had a lovely panini, cake and coffee and a very reasonable price too.”

“This is a lovely pub in a lovely location. Staff are super friendly and the food is very good. There's good parking and you can even pull up a boat, if that's your style, along the canal that's right by the beer garden. Highly recommended!”

“My family and I visited this charming pub twice while on holiday in the UK and always had a wonderful experience. The staff was always friendly, welcoming and attentive to our requests. The food was delicious and served hot. We chatted with the chef who welcomed our questions and advised us on the various sauces that accompanied our menu choices. Our family was particularly fond of the great gourmet burgers and my husband enjoyed tasting a good variety of the local brews (Henry the gaffer/bartender was very accommodating). All in all, a great intro to the British pub scene. Highly recommend for good food, drink and a fun night out!”
