“After retiring from work my Doctor diagnosed me with Type 2 Diabetes and prescribed medication (MetFormin tablets). He advised me to exercise and to lose weight. I joined my local Charteris gym and the free weekly Over 50s Keep Fit session where I received a warm welcome and made new friends. Charteris is a community-based not for profit centre run by committed and hardworking Director Lloyd and colleagues who have developed a popular programme of activities for a diverse neighbourhood. After 6 months attending Charteris my Doctor tested me again and found that my health had improved and that I had lost weight. He told me that I no longer had Diabetes and stopped my medication. I will continue to use the Charteris Gym and to attend the weekly Over 50s sessions as it helps me to keep fit, lose weight, improve my health and hopefully live longer!”

“My experience at the Hillingdon Sports and Leisure centre is mainly focused on the cafe situated inside. I came in for a light bite after my swimming session, the atmosphere is pleasant and welcoming the staff were very warm and friendly. The cake and coffee I had was perfect the range of cakes and sweet treats was decent also. The check back I received was greatly appreciated. Overall a very happy lovely cafe and nice experience. Will be coming back again.”

“I joined adult swimming lesson about 5 months ago. It has been the best decision ever! The swimming instructors Georgia and Shanni are absolutely amazing and I cannot recommend them enough! They are very professional, patient, supportive and their knowledge is second to none! Starting from a position of being scared to go in the pool, now I look forward to learning new skills and progress every single time I attend. Definitely, never too late to learn. “OMG love this pool. Can’t believe it’s in the middle of Covent Garden! So random! The water temperature was balmy, the deep end was super nice and deep which I find is quite rare in london pools. It’s buried deep in a residential area but that makes it a quite unique swimming experience. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Showers were so clean and changing rooms so warm!! Great experience overall! Thank you.”

“Fabricio is brilliant! Really knows his stuff and very easy to deal with. I am a tennis enthusiast rather than an expert of any kind so it was really helpful to have Fabricio explain my options when restringing and regripping my racket. Quick turnaround time and great communication and also very very competitive prices. His customer service skills are fantastic and would highly recommend FAB Tennis for anything Tennis related. “Excellent local sports centre. I bring my kids here for football lessons at Little Kickers Club; the sports hall is very safe and clean. I've used the pool a few times; it's clean and the water temperature is ideal. The changing rooms are spotless. The employees are always friendly and helpful. Badminton and table tennis are also available.”

“It's great for the price. I only use the pool and it's super easy to check what's happening in the pool before you go. There's free parking which you need to validate inside. Sauna and steam room are included in your membership, but don't forget to ask for a band at reception. The staff are always super helpful too.”

“Ever since the opening of a certain gym franchise nearby, the leisure centre has been super quiet. As much as it makes it more comfortable having less people to wait on machines and weights, this place deserves a little more love from the community in these times. They've lost so much members and its painful to see. Wishing for more members to come”

“A sports centre with everything that you look for, with people who are very friendly and helpful if you are new to the place... really a place to have everything under one roof to keep yourself fit and healthy. I would only recommend to add live meditation sessions here, which is so important these days.”
