“Had a great experience at Apna Des. It was late night and they were about to close but they were kind enough to serve as as their last customers for the day. Ordered Chicken Karahi and chicken biryani and got the suggestion for Garlic naan which was really amazing. Both of the main courses were lovely, loved the quantity too. Staff was really helpful specially Annie, kudos to her. Overall: 9/10 Definitely going back very soon”

“First time trying, was looking for a halal Korean/ Japanese restaurant, shame no seating to eat and regrettably the beef wasn't halal but from what we had was very impressed and will be revisiting to try more from the menu. Excellent flavour and taste.”

“Went to this amazing restaurant in the neighbourhood. I always prefer to eat meat but this time this vegetarian restaurant served the purpose very well. I ordered Aloo Piyaz thali with sweet lassi and everything was on point. The kind lady from staff was very helpful. Ambience was great with good choice of punjabi music. Overall a very pleasant experience. 9/10 Definitely going back very soon”

“We visited as a group of 6 and experienced excellent service and food. I was impressed by the quality of the food. Tried the Lamb and Chicken Biryani, Lamb was better in terms of spice. Garlic Chilli chicken was fantastic as was the mixed grill. The Manager was helpful and offered great service too.”

“Travelled from South London as there isn’t any Halal Chinese eat in spots. Overall great food and wasn’t not disappointed, loved that it was nothing fancy. Food was quick and fresh. Menu is halal and has many options.”

“Went for late breakfast just now and had a Set 2. Food was cooked, to my opinion, perfectly. Egg, Bacon, Sausage, Mushrooms, Chips, Beans, 2 toast and a mug of tea for £7.50. In today's climate that is well priced and considering it is a High St location I think great value for money. Parking on the road outside too. They have 5 stars scores on the door rating which made me want to try it. Under new owners from when I went years ago and they know what they're doing. Will definitely go again.”

“Took my friend here first time..service was great and on point.we orderd aubergine and potato meze which was served with salad and toasted bread the cold meze was mind blowing we could taste each and every flavour. For the mains we had grilled ribbs.and salmon with chips and salad.the salmon was well done it was perfect.price wise this place is same as all turkish places. Will recommend sultans.”

Had a take away just now, and the service was polite and friendly also they welcomed my card payment which makes me a happy customer, as many other places wont take card. “Absolutely delicious!! The kebabs were the best we have had (and we have tried many), it was very flavoursome, you could really taste the various spices and left us wanting more! The chicken shawarma was top notch, nice, juicy and had flavour to it, not bland as most restaurants!! A good portion too. Excellent value for money. Highly recommend trying this restaurant!”

“Had great service here. For a Turkish spot with great competition within 1 mile, the food is prices extremely decent! So many complimentary goods including salads, sauces, breads, turkish tea etc. We did not get turkish tea but we know that would have been amazing just like the rest! First time trying a cheesy hummus, absolutely amazing! Very unique flavour and very filling. Beead was freshly served and steamed up. Salad was to die for. I feel like some turkish places can get salad wrong even though it is very simple. The rice and bulgar (you can do half and half) was sooo moist and buttery! The donner itself was pretty standard. However the lamacun was the cherry on top. Service was A1++++++++. They were very attentive. Super fast and thats why we tipped voluntarily. Thank you guys.”

My second visit and there will certainly be many more. I’ve been looking for a nice Indian restaurant for a takeaway for a while, this is by far the best. “Lovely Keralan food and friendly service. I went there around 5pm on Saturday and was not busy at all. The staff were very friendly and polite. I had masala tea and masala dosa. The tea was very nice and had that typical Indian spice notes. The dosa was lovely , accompanied by Sambar and coconut chutneys. It was all very tasty , especially the Sambar, which had a very authentic taste. I can definitely recommend this restaurant for someone who fancies some Kerala food.”

“Wait to be seated was long for no apparent reason. The service was good, very attentive, but a big gap in middle of meal with no staff about so that we could get their attention. The food took quite long to come out but when it did, it was fabulous, worth the wait! Will definitely be returning.”

“Beautiful decor, friendly service, I tried the empire burger just so I could taste the doner too! The meat was lovely and lean, family enjoyed the doner also tried cheese burgers which were very similar to McDonald’s taste! Staff explained the history of the Ottoman Empire which was very interesting. I pray for their success and recommend you try their doner the taste was amazing!”

“Local sushi place that always delivers on quality and taste. We stick to the sushi plus the Katsu. The sushi is great value and very tasty. Gotta say it’s never let us down. Once in a while the presentation isn’t quite on point but the flavours always are. My only squibble. Chop the ginger otherwise you’re making me do the work. Love this place!”
