The Victoria Romford
“Now a really nice pub since its recent refurbishment. New manager but all the same lovely bar staff. And the Gents are spotless, for the first time in many years. Nice friendly atmosphere, and cheap drinks. One of the best locals in Romford.”
The King's Head
“Beautiful setting, delicious food and friendly and attentive staff. Felt very comfortable and had a lovely time.”
British Airways First Lounge
“What can I say about this lounge… well when compared to other lounges, even in other parts of Heathrow, it’s not that great. It can’t hold a candle to the Cathay or Qantas lounge in T3, It’s a little dated and I wouldn’t say it’s overly luxurious. However the main selling point of this lounge is that it is not a pay to use lounge and the connectivity of the First Wing in general. It’s the best lounge in T5 and it beats any lounge that isn’t ab airline status lounge . Firstly you can only get access if you are BA Gold or OneWorld equivalent (OneWorld Emerald) or you are flying first class. However if you are flying first you get access to the Concorde Room so wouldn’t use this lounge anyway. The access to the lounge is its main selling point as you go to the separate “First Wing” that has its own check in desks and security, and after security you walk down a short corridor and right into the lounge. This is fantastic as it means you come directly into the lounge without a long walk through the general terminal area. The size of the lounge is pretty big but with only a few drink stations positioned apart from the main food and beverage area. Plenty of seats in various configurations and a few work places. Throughout the pandemic, for food and beverage it was order only through barcode and phone, and at the time writing this is still available but there is a small, ever growing buffet coming back. This phone ordering was actually quite good but the selection could vary. Currently the buffet at breakfast has a decent selection of hot English breakfast, as well as fruit, pastries, cereal and other cold items. There are a few juices available and three coffee machines, that can get quite crowded during peak times. The food selection is good but it’s nothing to shout about, however it is recovering and getting better as time goes on. In terms of seating the furniture is quite old and tired but comfortable enough. It would be good if there was more charging points but if you are really desperate you will find one. I enjoy the Concorde terrace at the end of the lounge as it is usually quieter and offers runway views as well as feels much more open. The staff are always hard working and friendly and keep the lounge generally clean. As is the case with any lounge, how busy it gets really really affects the experience. When it’s busy it’s unpleasant but when empty (very very early in the morning) it can be quite nice. The lounge will fill up quite quickly after opening and usually there is a queue waiting to get in. But toilet facilities are however appalling. While located within the lounge, they are quite dated and usually have a queue of people waiting to get in the 6 or so cubicles available. This is just not good enough for a first class lounge. They are individual stalls which is nice and are generally quite clean but in major need of an upgrade and in need of more! All in all the major selling point of this lounge is its position in relation to the terminal and your route from taxi to plane. It very nice to have you’re own private section of the terminal which usually guarantees no check-in and security queues, and a very short walk from there to a comfy chair and coffee in the lounge. The facilities could use a face lift and if they continue improvement on the food section it will be good but all in all, to even be able to use this lounge you have to travel a lot. This means though you might be a discerning customer when it comes to airline lounges, you will use this place frequently and grow to like it a little bit. You will appreciate its layout in relation to the terminal and your travel experience, you will get to know it’s quirks, it’s up and downs and it will become like a mini home from home…”
Hoxton Grill
“If you need a place other than a cafe where you can just sit in the lounge, get on with your work on your laptop and have some food, you’d love this hotel / restaurant! I prefer to sit here from 12-5, eat lunch and work on my laptop. It does get busier and louder after 5pm, however. The mushroom pie is really good because it tastes like a risotto. The honey glazed chicken bites are an amazing appetiser that you could nibble on while working. The cheeseburger is good, but nothing special so I wouldn’t re-order. The hot chocolate is DIVINE!”
The Portman
“Phenomenal. Love this place, and I travel all over the world. There must be a 100 bars and restaurants within a 3 block radius of the Marble Arch... This place is the best of them all. The food is outstanding, the beer selection is great, The wait staff and bartenders are professional, knowledgeable, attentive, and friendly. The fact they are all smoking hot is a bonus! The drinks are fun and well done, and, again, the wait staff is amazing. The fish-and-chips are perfect. The chips are slim and crispy like McDonald's, not fat and potato-y. The mushy peas are flavourful and wonderful--order extra, if you like mushy peas! The short rib was tender, flavourful and perfect. The mussells were an absolute treat. Did I mention that the service was outstanding? And don't miss the sticky coffee pudding with ice cream at the end! Done right, traditional, and wonderful. Order it with extra sauce and extra ice cream! One order is easily enough for 2 unless unless you have a sweet tooth then you may want to order 1 each! As a bonus, if you like American football, the Carpenter Arms, a half- block away, has it (including NFL Red Zone) on live TV on Sunday nights An absolute jewel.”
The Caesar Hotel
“Very late post, since my visit was 5 months ago (in Oct 2022). The hotel is in a quiet and clean neighborhood. I didn’t have breakfast but it did smell very good every morning. There’s at least 2 underground stations very close by and Paddington (which we used to get back to LHR) was about a 20 minute walk, at most. Hotel is clean and staff is very helpful and friendly. All the touristy spots are not close by, but with it wasn’t an issue whatsoever for me since it’s so easy to get anywhere via underground. Would definitely stay here again.”
Saravanaa Bhavan
“We went there for a very late lunch (3ish) so were surprised to see a 20 minutes wait and about 6 families ahead of us in the queue. It was a cold day (4-5 C) and we were glad to find out they can add you into the queue along with a phone number, which they use to call you when it's nearly your turn. This let us wait in the comfort of our car. Once we were in, we saw a slightly cramped restaurant. But it was clean and chaos free. The staff there ran it with organized ease and with a smile. The food was fresh and tasty. There were ample choices in the menu. The service was prompt and the toilets clean. In my mind that's good enough for full marks.”
Bo Lang

The Cricketers - Kew Green
“The bar sandwich menu is really good and reasonably priced. The fish goujon sandwich is delicious. Soft fresh bread and packet salad but tender and fresh, with a good dressing. Highly recommended for lunch .. don't know about dinner.”
The Anglesea Arms
“Fabulous meal at the Anglesea Arms. Service, food and wine were all outstanding. The new fine wine list is well worth asking for, the Langoa Barton 12 is drinking superbly. We'll definitely return soon.”
The Prince of Teck

New York Nails
“Fantastic job, my little one and I had our first trip to the nail bar together. The ladies were super helpful and they did a great job. Altogether we paid £35, mine were shellac nails and my little one had a simple polish. Hand massage was lovely and we both enjoyed that.”

Hailwoods Restaurant
“Wonderful place, love it with friends. I can recommend it to others.”
Busaba Covent Garden
“Beautiful calm almost zen-like restaurant in the middle of Soho. Keen to check out somewhere a bit different and not one of the major chains. Got a walk in table for 2 with no wait and you have the choice of joining others on a big table or sitting looking out the window side by side. We chose the latter for no other reason than we like people watching! Good selection of food but we settled on starters of thai fish cake and pork ribs and a couple of pad Thai. I had the Jay (veggie) and my wife the Classic. Both arrived piping hot and delicious. The prawn crackers were also top quality. Great venue, lovely food and friendly efficient service and all in a little over £70 with a bottle of wine and a tip (incl in the bill). Would definitely recommend.”
Joy King Lau
“Visited this restaurant for lunch while visiting the theatre to watch Book of Mormon and it was brilliant. The restaurant is split between 4 floors and is big but the service is super quick. We also managed to get a seat with a minimal wait. We went for a mix of Dim Sum and mains for lunch. The dim sum tasted great and was generous. The mains were great, I went for a roasted pork rice and the portion was huge and tasted amazing! The prices were great compared to quality of the food which might be a reason why the place was full when we visited. Highly recommended!”
Browns
“My experience is perfect from this place.Everything that I ordered it was marvelous. I ordered a lot of things and I never had a problem. I suggest everyone to buy from this place”
Le Cafe.
“Great Little Gem! Miss this place.. I love the jacket potatoe with the chicken bacon brie mix (or even with onion mix) amazing and very good price! compared everywhere in London.”
Kings Head
“I have eaten Thai food here which I can recommend. Also live music events on Sunday afternoons and karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights. Bar staff are friendly and so is the landlord Steve who will accommodate your parties for you”
The Gallery Pub
“If I could give this place 12/10 stars I would. If you want a hostel, this is the place to go. I promise you that there will be great service, food, clean place, (especially Air conditioning, thank god) and each room has character. great prices, the pub below has great food and great prices, and the manager is the sweetest guy. If you are choosing a place, please stay there! He deserves all the support. 100%.”

Pretty Little Nails
“Great local salon. Clean, nice staff. Really good for nail extensions, have had Mani Pedis here too and they do good nail art. Highly recommend.”
File and Forge Jewellery School and Workshop
“What a great decision! We had an amazing day making our wedding bands at File and Forge and couldn’t recommend it enough to other couples. We found it cost about the same as buying the rings from a shop and with the extra silver copy you make in the morning it’s even better value. The ladies are both super friendly, kind and helpful, perfectly straddling the line of letting you make your own ring and stepping in to make sure your ring was a high quality result. The new workshop is a lovely space to work too. Can’t recommend it enough!”
