Aburi Japanese Restaurant
● Closed“Excellent and authentic Japanese food, was my second time going in a week and I’d do it again! The sushi is very very good and I also liked the tonkatsu curry. Prices might be a bit high however it is so worth it, given how good the taste is.”

LSE Bankside House
● Open“We stayed for 3 nights at the start and end of our recent trip to England. The highest of high points for this hotel is its price, particularly for families with several children like ours; we were able to fit into a few large rooms. They are dorm rooms, but clean and safe feeling and not cramped, which is all I was looking for. The rooms do not have TVs, but we had iPads and free WiFi, so it was never an issue. It should be noted that these are dorms, not a purpose-built hotel, but if you are looking for something more substantial than a hostel it provides great bang-for-the-buck (or pound). The location rivaled the price for the best aspect of this hotel. We walked around the Tate and had immediate access to the Bankside restaurants, the Globe (where we watched a play while standing up), and the Millennium Bridge (across which we went to Evensong at St. Paul's). A brief walk to a Tube or bus stop, and we were able to get anywhere in England! Within one block were grocery stores and other services, which meant we could conveniently finish our sightseeing days with a simple meal if we didn't want to eat out at a restaurant. Many reviews will mention the breakfast, which was excellent. With a bunch of kids, the ability to get a hot, protein-rich breakfast, some hot drinks, and a couple pieces of fruit was really amazing. Finally, I was impressed by the staff. We unintentionally visited during a massive festival in London, and so the hotel was packed with a lot of people from all over the world. The staff were positive and helpful in every interaction we had with them. Everyone I saw working in the cafeteria, reception, and housekeeping were efficient, professional, and pleasant. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.”

Dancescape Studios
● Closed“My daughter joined her after her dance school closed, both the students and teachers were so friendly and welcoming it was like she had always been part of this dance family. The principle and owner is the most open, professional and loveliest teacher you could come across in the world of dance and she offers so many exciting opportunities to her students.. They offer such a variety of classes from street to jazz to musical theatre and for all ages, all are welcomed here.”

The Fox
● Closed413 Green Lanes, London N13 4JD, United Kingdom“The Fox has had a total rebuild into a fantastic space. It has excellent food, top quality decor, subtle but plentiful large screens for sports, a function room, an Insta Feature wall and sparkling toilets. It's easy to see how the £1.3 million was spent. Our visit started when the pub was quiet on a weekday afternoon. However, by the time we left at 7.30 every seat and table was taken. It seems the local area and beyond are really excited by this venue ! I had been looking forward to visiting having lived a few doors away for years. The drinks : we sampled the London Pride and it was perfectly served and at a normal London price for an upmarket pub. To accompany our food we got a bottle of the Pinot Noir ( California ) and at just £26 it was superb value. Fruity, light, and smooth. At that price it has to be the best bottle of red in a venue in London ! Brilliant. The Food : we had a chicken burger ( Cajun ) and the beef burger. Both were served beautifully, were tasty and excellent quality. There was plenty of grilled Cajun chicken ! Chips were not plentiful but were crisp and hot. A side salad with coleslaw was well prepared. ( See photos ) The Service : the staff were friendly and helpful and made sure we had everything we needed and checked on how our food was. A final word about the development. The outside of the pub has been restored to its original glory. It looks fantastic as you can see from my photos. At last Palmers Green has a top pub and venue with the historic Fox fit for the 21st century. Absolutely top notch and must be in line for awards as the best pub in North London if there is such a thing ! Go visit !”

Hectors on the Wey
● ClosedCatteshall Road, Godalming GU7 1NH, United Kingdom“Some people with no sense of humour seem to have been offended by the warm and jolly service from Hector and (sorry we didn’t get your name) the other proprietor… but we had a great time! Excellent soup and warm bread, and as we said, the jokes were free! What’s not to love? We will definitely come back. Made our day.”
