“Was there for funeral wake for my Cousin. It was his local, the Landlord Jamie and young lady serving were very welcoming. Jamie's Dad also. My Cousin was a 'Regular' so Jamie was also at his funeral service, which was a nice thing to do. The food was perfect and delicious. As it was quite early in the day we started the wake on tea but I then had a tasty wine & lemonade spritzer, it was lovely. Well done to all the team at the Winning Post for respectfully giving my Cousin a grand send off.”

The locals were very friendly too and the pub had a great atmosphere. Highly recommend this pub, especially for families as they were great with kids too. “We visited yesterday as we wanted to have lunch in a dog friendly establishment. They had water and dog treats for the puppy (cute touch) We had a selection of starters which were amazing, followed by some mains, off the the pub selection. They all tasted lovely and good value for money. The pub is really clean and fresh, with a lovely atmosphere. We were recommended this place via Facebook group and will be visiting again.”

“Arrived at opening time on Sunday and we were given a warm welcome at the bar. Our drinks and food orders were taken efficiently and in a friendly manner. Food was served hot and tasty. We would definitely return if we are in the area again. Thanks for a great meal and service.”

“Lovely pub over two levels with a small beer garden out the back from the upper level and to the side of the lower level. The usual seating options available and everything was clean and tidy. The staff were lovely as was the breakfast. Afterwards, the Guinness was also proven to be excellent. Lots of interesting tree men throughout the pub - not sure why”
