Capoeira Academy UK

Capoeira at the academy isn’t just about learning skills, it’s gaining confidence and being embraced as a new member of a family. It teaches the kids how to be resilient and always give your 100%”

ATDANCING.UK
● Closed“If you want to learn to be able to dance spontaneously to a song without any scripting, and be able to adjust your dancing to your partner, then you need to be here! I have progressed more in the past few months here than I have at other clubs. Highly recommend to anyone looking to start learning and who just wants to be able to get up and dance on the spur of the moment with whomever!”

Off The Rails
● Open14-16, 8 Grant Road, London SW11 2NU, United Kingdom“It is my favourite Dance Studio to go to. Missie and Gee who look after the studio are some of the most wonderful and friendliest ladies I have ever met. The community they have created is so welcoming and inclusive. I love how the classes are easy to follow wether you are new to dancing, dancing as a hobbie or professional. They always make sure that everyone is taken into account and often will listen to some of the songs you want to do and try to accommodate. I personally love the commercial, contemporary with Gee and musical theatre classes. I've done a little hip hop which I am not the best at but Missie is always so patient and encouraging. I also love their workshop, they are so much fun and very varied. They have just launched their new classes and I can't wait to try them. The new studio is BEAUTIFUL! So exciting!”

Tango Movement
● Closed“When I first started dancing tango 18 months ago, I went around London trying out different classes and teachers but was not satisfied with the progress I was making. I then travelled to Italy, Switzerland, and Germany and many other cities looking for the same but to no avail. One fine day, I met David in a Tango festival in London and he invited me to his classes. When I completed my first lesson with David and Kim I knew this was the place for me and these were my teachers from then on. As I continued the lessons under David and Kim's teaching, I was making rapid progress. As far as I am concerned in terms of elegance and style in Argentinian tango dancing, there is no other couple to match them in London. Their classes are extremely well structured and David is a very strict and passionate teacher who never gives up on his students. Kim and David ensure that you don’t leave the class unless you have learnt what was taught on that day. What is important in tango dancing, like anything else in life, is the continuity of lessons with a particular teacher. It is a good idea sometimes to try different workshops but you need one teacher whose style connects with you. David and Kim’s lessons are not just a series of tango moves but instruct you on how to dance with complete elegance and grace. Above all they are the only tango teachers I came across who are not totally money orientated and are more concerned with improving student performance on a weekly basis, building great relationships with their students and show genuine care for each and every student. If anybody wants to learn how to dance tango with elegance and feeling then David and Kim are your teachers.”

At Your Beat Studio
● Closed112 Great Russell Street, London WC1B 3NQ, United Kingdom“AYB is like a little family that is constructive, helpful and so brilliantly encouraging. I've been dancing for a long time but I stopped with I reached adulthood (mostly due to finding adult classes a bit sterile or not very amicable). AYB is a WHOLE different story. My first in person class, I felt like a part of the team. It's super inclusive, super friendly and super motivating. Highly recommend joining the squad!”

Flamenco Academy
● Closed“If you want to learn the perfect art of flamenco then Ollie is the perfect teacher. He's a superb dancer and exceptionally skilled in his craft. He has a true passion for flamenco and this is reflected in class. As a teacher he’s incredibly inspiring and encouraging and I love his attention to detail (he hears and sees everything!) Ollie cares about teaching correct technique, posture, rhythm and he most definitely has the ability to get the best from his students. His classes are challenging and great fun. You’ll be fully immersed in flamenco, with lovely people, and come away feeling energised and looking forward to the next class! Absolutely recommend The Flamenco Academy.”

Olga & Filippo Tango
● Closed“Filippo is a truly fantastic teacher. There are no shortcuts in his teaching philosophy- the priority is building a rock-solid basis and working on principles rather than on sequences and choreography. The lessons are intense, he's completely focused on the student- Filippo listens, observes, tries. His feedback is always spot-on and constructive. Not only that I can see improvement in my dancing, it's been also noted by several leader and I think that says it all. Learning with Filippo is hard work, but it pays off very soon- I can only recommend!”

Gurmani - Georgian Restaurant
● Closed238 Langham Road, London N15 3NB, United Kingdom“This was actually my first time trying Georgian food and I have to say it was absolutely fantastic, so much so I went again shortly after to try something different. I would highly recommended the Acharuli Khachapuri and Chefs special, both were absolutely delicious and I would definitely have them again. The restaurant itself is both casual and cosy with simple, clean decor that felt warm and welcoming. The layout gives each table it's own personal space and is lovely for casual lunch or dinner with friends and loved ones. Table service was outstanding, friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Excellent recommendations with the option to taste the wine as well. Both times I had a wonderful, relaxing evening. Would highly recommend.”

VP Bhangra
● Open“After one term with Bittu who teaches the beginners class I have learnt so much. He is patient, takes time explaining the steps and really focuses on how to get the basics right. He makes the class engaging and fun especially with his dad jokes! I attend alone and the people I have met are so lovely. There are many of us and we all get individual feedback which is very encouraging. I had zero experience coming in to the class and I would reccomend literally everyone to go the classes and get your bhangra on!”

All The Arts Theatre School Ltd
● Open“Fabulous theatre school with a fabulous team Lucy, Craig, Hannah, Sophie just to name a few really go above and beyond to ensure every child has fun and learns. Always opportunities to show of their skills and also to qualify in their chosen arts along the way. I wrote this review 4 years ago after my daughter having been at ATA for almost 4 years. She’s now been there almost 8 years and it is still the most amazing place. She gains so much confidence and skill from her classes and has thrived. She has gained LAMDA and IDTA qualifications in the plenty and is now a Grade 2. Sadly this is her final year due to us moving but she has loved every minute and we wouldn’t be without them. They not only are her teachers but they become an extension of the children’s families and help them not only with drama and musical arts but also support them when life is tough and they just need someone to listen. Thank you all for being the amazing team you are. We will truly miss you all. Xx”

The wine bar is perfect for a party where you can dance or sit in a quieter part of the bar. There is also a courtyard to sit outside if you need. The drinks were served without any waiting. We had Prosecco And beer on arrival and their staff were so attentive making sure your glass was topped up. Cocktails are amazing too. We had 70s disco music which everyone enjoyed.”
