Modern dining experience in Cobham

“Hands down some of the best fish shop food i’ve eaten and I spent my childhood in Cornwall. I ended up eating £35 worth of battered goodness in one greasy sitting. All human reflexes left my body and I simply devoured every last amber coloured flake of batter. The next day I spent the morning in the shower, contemplating the animalistic impulse that washed over me, undoing millennia of psychological evolution in one crispy bite. As much as I’d love to return, I simply won’t be able to contain myself if I were to go back to this chippy, I may devolve to a lower state of consciousness. Because of this fried establishment, I must contemplate a life without Cobham Fish Bar’s scran. This leaves an immensely sad feeling within me. I hope you enjoy their food as much as I did. As for the comments relating to the wait time, the wait is irrelevant. If you’re visiting for some stale trawler caught cod, then look elsewhere. The fish is cooked right before your very eyes by keen employees that exist only for us humans culinary enjoyment. They show a genuine interest in the customers day and diligently go through your order to ensure that there are no dinner-time disasters. This team envisage “Quae Sursum Sunt Quaerite”.”

“Have dined a number of times and never been disappointed. As it was bonfire night a friend and I decided to get a takeaway. The food was beautiful, hot, with all the right spices, making it the same as if dined in. What was exceptional was that 2/3 minutes after opening the takeaway bag I realised that one item was incorrect but as we liked this starter anyway we decided not to bother to do anything. However the phone went and panorama rang, full of apologies and sent a driver out with the item we had ordered. I said it didn’t matter but they insisted. I thought this was great customer service. Amazing food, never disappointed completed with great customer service by lovely people”

“We had breakfast in Saturday morning. The waiters were very friendly and the place was quite busy. Prices are higher than in some other nearby restaurants, but the presentation and the decor is great. Hoping to come back again soon to try the dinner menu.”

“I’ve slept in some places that I would happily like to forget, this place wasn’t one of them. Easy parking, fast check in, amazing smell walking down the halls, room clean with kettle and coffee, bed so comfortable, allowed dogs which is a bonus with doing dog shows, park for the kids, lovely walk for the dogs around the back of the building with poo bins, will definitely book this place again, all staff were lovely even at my 4am walk with the dog. Lots of food places to choose from right outside the hotel door, didn’t hear any traffic with window closed, room was lovely and cool, I’d give the place 10 stars if I could”

“Excellent one night stopover for attending an event at Brooklands. Room was clean, comfy and quiet; bed huge with a great mattress; staff friendly and the breakfast was delicious and plentiful. What's not to like? Highly recommended.”

“I had a wonderful experience at Leon Cobham today. I’m Vegan and allergic to Gluten. I spoke to one of your colleagues - Navik, I think that’s the name and he helped me choose the perfect breakfast item by making sure the ingredients were safe for me by checking in their Leon Book. “This was my favorite pub. We spent a great deal of time and money there. Good friends made, both staff and locals. Unfortunately, the manager, has no class and a bad attitude. The Runner is on suspension, for me, for 60 days. If it ever happens again, I won’t spend another £ there. Reply - I am not about to Dox anybody. We love the food, atmosphere and friendships. The absolute majority of your staff is excellent. A little bit of tact goes a long way though, as opposed to a “Shoosh”. You should indeed have a conversation with managers about how they deal with people, especially some that drop 500 quid a month. Thanks, Ollie, Very Best. Update - The Running Mare has definitely upped their game. Give credit where credit is due. This is a wonderful place where You will find kind and interesting people. “We had our wedding at Woodlands Park Hotel and the event coordination was exceptional. The day went better than smoothly and the friendliness, exuberance and efficiency of the staff on the day really wowed us. The venue speaks for itself and the attention to detail was faultless. We would recommend Woodlands Park Hotel (and in particular, Cheyenne Crombie, the event coordinator) without hesitation. It was a wonderful day, the communications leading up to the day were superb and the day went without hitch or glitch.”

“Our outdoor kitchen and room , built by Ghost is just beautiful and has added to the quality of life for our family. Blessed with almost our own rugby team, family get togethers often leave us fighting for space. We decided what we needed to do was use our garden, remove our old broken down shed and invest in an outside space that would give us the extra space for gatherings or for work or to get away from the family for a bit of piece. From start to finish everything was handled by Ghost, from planning, managing all contractors and keeping us fully briefed at each stage of the build. Having this additional space has saved us money on moving house. We now have a great room, outside kitchen with large BBQ space and our very own bar. Happy, happy customer!”
