72QT - The London Latvian Centre
● Open“A lovely old fashioned b&b right on Hyde park. The room was as described and clean. The breakfast is adequate but the room itself is drafty. The staff is very warm and friendly. The stairs and corridors creak but it's vintage!”

Sands Films Studio
● Open“A very unique, quirky, whimsical place to visit! situated near the Brunel Museum & Mayflower & Ship pubs. Very close to the Thames river. 2 minute walk from Rotherhithe overground station. Its a very old warehouse-like an Aladdins cave & many stage props everywhere & paintings, statues, costumes (made for recent films-Little Women etc) Even the loos are lovingly decorated & homely! People are very friendly & welcoming. A film showing area-with armchairs & sofas on a graduated floor. Stage & theatre area up stairs. They make films there too. Give a donation at the Film night & other events are on most evenings. Like a little oasis... :-):-):-) ★☆★☆★♥”

Yagori Gypsy music & dance group / Gypsydance UK
● Open“I have started Gypsy dancing last September and i love it. Such a beautiful, colourful and joyful dance that gives the opportunity to truly express oneself. Saeeda provides great classes and teaching, and is always happy to share her knowldege, and to help her students to improve their technique and expression. The classes are very welcoming, with great atmosphere between students. The levels are mixed, that is great to review basics as well as progress quickly. Highly recommended to any student (M/F) new to dancing or trained dancer who wants to learn a new style and challenge him/herself, and above all share the joy of dancing :)”

Hampton Court Palace
● Closed“Lovely day out, huge amount to look at, the maze was smaller than I thought but still challenging. The magical garden is superb for the kids, glad we went there last otherwise we'd have spent the whole day in the play area! Take towels and maybe a change of clothes as the magical garden includes fountains and sand pits for the kids to play in.”

The Cinema Museum
● Open“I went to what I thought was going to be a 2hr guided tour of the museum and it ended up turning into 4 and I was not disappointed. I've since been back twice to watch old films and it is such a lovely (and inexpensive) experience. I highly recommend doing both. The venue is well kept and interesting and all the fellas who work there are clearly very passionate about cinema, which is infectious. Check their website for what's on!”

Dream Fencing Academy
● Closed“Walked by on a weekday, saw there was a fencing club up-there. There is also boxing and I wondered what it would be for me. Tried both and Yossif ("maitre d'arme") was just amazing. It's been a real pleasure, releasing some steam every Wednesday. Brought a couple of friends and everybody had so much fun, Yossif is great for new starters to most advanced! I've checked around London and fencing clubs are ridiculously overpriced with staff that are not even good international fencers, Yossif is a one man band working hard but with a big smile on his face and welcoming eyes. Go and check it out, you'll enjoy as much as I did. Unfortunately work keeps me busy 70 hours/week now so can't really comit to it atm, but will go back some days and practise my lunge ;-)”
