Fresh food in Cobham

“Hands down some of the best fish shop food i’ve eaten and I spent my childhood in Cornwall. I ended up eating £35 worth of battered goodness in one greasy sitting. All human reflexes left my body and I simply devoured every last amber coloured flake of batter. The next day I spent the morning in the shower, contemplating the animalistic impulse that washed over me, undoing millennia of psychological evolution in one crispy bite. As much as I’d love to return, I simply won’t be able to contain myself if I were to go back to this chippy, I may devolve to a lower state of consciousness. Because of this fried establishment, I must contemplate a life without Cobham Fish Bar’s scran. This leaves an immensely sad feeling within me. I hope you enjoy their food as much as I did. As for the comments relating to the wait time, the wait is irrelevant. If you’re visiting for some stale trawler caught cod, then look elsewhere. The fish is cooked right before your very eyes by keen employees that exist only for us humans culinary enjoyment. They show a genuine interest in the customers day and diligently go through your order to ensure that there are no dinner-time disasters. This team envisage “Quae Sursum Sunt Quaerite”.”

“We have been to The Ivy many times and it’s one of our favourite restaurants around Cobham, Esher and Weybridge. Great customer service and the whole team is always very nice. Fantastic food, well presented and great value too. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.”

“First time we had brunch at Fego Cobham, had a great experience. We arrived at 11:30am on a weekday, served immediately. The poached egg and smashed avocado on sourdough bread was ok, pretty standard, very filling. The Mexican-inspired Ranchero, on the other hand, was rather delightful: poached eggs, sautéed potatoes, chorizo, mushroom, jalapenos, smashed avocado, coriander yoghurt. A medium spicy, tomatoey flavour - just perfect! Generous portion as well. Highly recommend!”

“Love our local Waitrose, the staff are all so so friendly and attentive. Good stock on most things , I only wish Waitrose didn’t get rid of their own branded gluten free chocolate cup cakes in the bakery section - for someone who is coeliac like me they were the best tasting cakes I’ve ever had and trust me a lot of gluten free stuff is so dry , but not these!! Pls bring them back :(”

“We had breakfast in Saturday morning. The waiters were very friendly and the place was quite busy. Prices are higher than in some other nearby restaurants, but the presentation and the decor is great. Hoping to come back again soon to try the dinner menu.”

I spoke to one of your colleagues - Navik, I think that’s the name and he helped me choose the perfect breakfast item by making sure the ingredients were safe for me by checking in their Leon Book. “Unbelievable service here, very attentive and engaging the food was TO DIE FOR. Only minor was the sharing steak (pictured) we felt should have chosen a larger size as we both thought it wasn't QUITE big enough, our fault, not theirs. The wine (pictured) is some of the best I've ever tasted as is the garlic bread starter (pictured). Will definitely be returning but at over £200 for 3 people probably only for special occasions. Thank you again to the staff here, truly exceptional!”

“This was my favorite pub. We spent a great deal of time and money there. Good friends made, both staff and locals. Unfortunately, the manager, has no class and a bad attitude. The Runner is on suspension, for me, for 60 days. If it ever happens again, I won’t spend another £ there. Reply - I am not about to Dox anybody. We love the food, atmosphere and friendships. The absolute majority of your staff is excellent. A little bit of tact goes a long way though, as opposed to a “Shoosh”. You should indeed have a conversation with managers about how they deal with people, especially some that drop 500 quid a month. Thanks, Ollie, Very Best. Update - The Running Mare has definitely upped their game. Give credit where credit is due. This is a wonderful place where You will find kind and interesting people. “My second visit and it was just as good as the first. A lovely long boozy lunch with friends. Food exquisite. Ate from the Xmas menu and the turkey was delicious (not dry at all). An amazing espresso martini too. A firm favourite.”

“One of the best kebab shops I have ever used. Their food is so tasty and always fresh - their chips are SO good - well everything is good. Great for a treat if you're looking for something a bit unhealthy but their salads and chicken kebabs are delicious if you're looking for something a bit healthier too. Definitely recommend!”

“Just wanted to say 'thank you', especially to the male member of staff on checkout/stacking who helped me greatly and stopped me having a bit of a meltdown when my electric wheelchair decided to take some timeout at the checkout this afternoon, he was kind, considerate, polite and understanding and reassured me that my dilema was not a problem even though I could hear a few 'tuts' from customers behind me. I forgot to look at his name badge , but he knows who he is and you should too as there will be a little halo shining brightly above him, please pass on my HUGE thanks to him again and reassure him that the taxi got me home safely. “I do like this petrol station. Obviously you get nectar points on your petrol, but it’s really handy for top up shops after the main store has closed. There is a cash point, a car wash and the shop is well stocked with essentials and other things like beer, wine chocolates and flowers. Also sell essential items for the car too, screen wash, antifreeze, emergency canister for reinflatung tyres etc etc. Staff are always nice and friendly.”

“Visited for a festive hot chocolate (and toblerone latte in my case) with the family on Christmas eve. Really appreciated being allowed to bring our spaniel in to sit in the back room. Hot drinks delicious and we also tried a white chocolate tiffin slice - pricey but a lovely treat!”
