The restaurant is spacious and can accommodate larger families / groups without feeling as if your table is joined to a stranger's. Service is attentive. Reasonable pricing, great value.”

“This place has it all! Just listen to the sound of my posted videos :) The best flavour for Chinese food. Once a week they visit our campus at Reading Uni and serve us traditional, delicious dishes. It works like a lifesaver at uni to have such a special restaurant serving at hour place. I usually go with porkbelly or beef with noodles. The meat is always soft and incredibly good spiced. The noodles absorb the sauce perfectly. I add spicy and sesame sauce along with cilantro and crushed peanuts as a topping. Definitely a must go if you are on Thursdays at Reading Uni or Wokingham.”

“E&O is a firm family favourite for us! We have visited a number of times and have never been disappointed. The food is super tasty, always hot and fresh and there are so many options to choose from! The service is fantastic and you are never rushed but always encouraged to take your time and enjoy. The all-you-can-eat option is a no-brainer - such great value! The restaurant itself is stunning with authentic Chinese decor and a great atmosphere. New Years Eve was our latest visit and the restaurant was incredibly busy. This didn't phase the staff at all - it was still very much service with a smile and the food was just as hot and delicious as it always is - credit to the chef(s)! We always look forward to our next visit!”

“We had a lovely family lunch. Not a huge choice of menu options, but something to suit most tastes. Menu changes regularly to accommodate seasonal availability of fresh vegetables. Children's menu is also available. Service was a bit slow, but staff are charming (we weren't in a hurry, so waiting wasn't a problem). Food was delicious. Modern building with high ceilings, loads of natural light and plants, makes it a very pleasant environment.”

“A fantastic little restaurant almost hidden in the village. The outside is quite nondescript but once in you are welcomed warmly by all the staff. Some amazing dishes on the menu including their bruschetta rustica and the sea bass. Staff were quick, friendly and attentive.”

Its a really funny little place you can just feel at home in with big sofa seating upstairs to chill and chat or more formal table and chair seating if that's what you prefer. “Lovely family run restaurant. You can tell everyone who works there cares about the place. We were a big group and catered for very well including my grandparents with specific dietaries. My baller cousins from USA were over and they made jokes about their watches which was funny.”

“We booked for 2 as the reviews showed fabulous food and staff. We chose 2 menus, one vegetarian and the plates just didn't stop coming. We couldn't believe how much food we were being served. We drank Lebanese wine and beer which were also excellent. While we still had plenty of food on the table, the friendly waitress brought more tasting plates and announced she would bring the main course in 15 minutes! We were amazed that there was more food to come. The restaurant is a real gem. The staff are genuinely warm and explained each dish as it was served. We loved the wine wall and the coloured lighting. Will definitely return to repeat the experience. We had to take away the baklava as we were simply too full. That was lovely too. Thank you.”

“Since this lovely cafe opened I’ve been many times and always enjoyed a friendly welcome and yummy food and drinks. Today I tried to the full english breakfast which was delightful. All grilled not greasy and lovely produce great price too. I’d highly recommend.”

“We love going to the Jovial. The team are always absolutely lovely and go out of their way to make you feel as welcome as possible. We popped down for Mother's Day and enjoyed the carvery with a group of 14. Big shout out to James for helping with our numerous table size adjustments (and always with a smile), and to Mark for the food which was absolutely top notch!”

“My wife and I have visited the Crown and Anchor on a few occasions since the new owners have taken over and always had a lovely time but have never sampled the food. On Saturday 1st October we booked lunch with 9 family members to get together for my dads birthday who we sadly lost 13 years ago. The food was out of this world, all home cooked. I had the cheese burger which I have to say was up there with the best I have ever had. Lasagna, pizzas, Halloumi burger and the liver and bacon were ordered (dads favourite, which my mum had and said was incredible, her words). Everyone said how amazing their food was. (Kids food was great too). The beers we ordered were perfect, these guys really do know what they are doing.m when it comes to pouring the perfect pint. Can’t rate and thank Wendy and her team highly enough. Nothing was too much, we really did feel like royalty. The tribute to dad was incredible. It was the perfect place to go with Wendy and her Husband Marco being Crystal Palace fans as so are we as a family. Wendy put a palace scarf on the table and put a pint there for dad. It’s these sort of touches that mean so much. We told them we would be bringing our German Shepherd with us and we couldn’t believe what they did, a lovely bed at the end of the table for him to chill in. We also ordered a lovely dinner for him which he really enjoyed. Such a lovely dog friendly pub. The play kids area is amazing, kept the little ones entertained for ages. Wendy even set up an art and craft table for the two little ones while we had our lunch as they had theirs first, again kept them entertained. She ended up being like the pied piper with all the kids in the pub following her around. She took them down to the river that runs along the back of the amazing garden to feed the ducks and swans. So way and above. Again, thank you so much guys for the most amazing afternoon, we really can’t thank you enough. I urge everyone to try this pub, you will not be disappointed. And lastly let’s not forget the barman (sorry, didn’t catch your name), amazing service, always remembered each round and couldn’t do enough for us. One last thing, The Crown and Anchor take food allergies really seriously, there are no nuts on the premises, so if any of you have an allergy, another reason to try this wonderful pub. “I’ve tried most Chinese takeaways in woking and guildford and apart from the Beijing which is ridiculously expensive, the New Golden House is a class above the rest, I’ve now been using this place for 4 years and will never choose to order from anywhere else!!”

“I was extremely impressed at the staff at the Gorse Hill Hotel. We had a late drink at the bar and they were so accommodating and incredibly friendly. The bartender in particular was such a warm personality and we did catch him laughing at some parts of our conversation, he definitely contributed to how good our stay was! The hotel is split into different buildings and the outdoor area is beautiful and well-maintained. The room was good, nothing special but it had a comfy bed and was a clean room. Thank you to everyone at the hotel.”

Absolutely delicious, ordered the menu for 2 with some extra starters which was perfect for 3 adults and great value too. We will definitely be making this our regular.”
