Fine dining at its best in Croydon

“We really enjoyed our stay at Leonardo. We booked a double room and paid on arrival, we were then told that we had a free upgrade to a king-size room which was a wonderful surprise and very much appreciated! The rooms are clean, light, and great-sized. The bathroom has a shower and a bath, with a lovely illuminated mirror. We had water and biscuits provided every day during our stay and a working fridge which can be used. There is a bar and restaurant which we didn't use but was always busy which is a good sign, and there is a small shop with snacks and drinks should you require anything. The hotel is situated a 5 min walk from Croydon East station, and takes about 30 minutes to get into London, making it a good base in my opinion. Equally, Croydon centre is a 5 minute walk and there is an array of places to eat and drink nearby. Would stay here again and would recommend.”

“Sorry but wasn't at Majestic Wine, merely nearby, so can't help on this occasion. I have, however, used this branch of Majestic quite a few times, when living in nearby Whyteleafe. They always carried a great variety of wines, at varying prices, and were always pleased to advise on choice per your budget. They never let me down on this front. Thanks.”

The Lamb shank and Rabbit meat are great!! The Panna Cotta may be the best dessert I’ve ever had in a while! Just annoyed I had to share it.”

The Thai Elephant management should be proud of the staff, as Chinese/Thai restaurants are notorious for an impersonal robotic service, however your staff are amiable, attentive, helpful, and knowledgeable (while not being overbearing), and maintaining a professional distance. “Fantastic customer service by Ted when I was purchasing a new mattress. I ordered via phone months after having visited in person and the older price was honoured. Delivery charge was very fair too. The delivery men (contracted) were a little sour but it was the end of their day; no stars off for HoR just an FYI for customers. They were not able to take shoes off due to H&S so just something to be aware of.”

“I ordered starters crispy squid, gizzard and there was another order of chofi. Must say the squid wasn’t nice at all. It was shaped like nuggets not your usual ring shape which made it taste battery instead of tasting the actual squid quite disappointing. Must say the rest of the starters that was ordered were really nice and well seasoned. Also the moko it came with was delicious. I got jollof as takeaway yet to taste it. Deffo do recommend this restaurant service was great.”

“Just visited during my break for a quick special fried rice and was shocked it only cost £3.20 for a large one! To my surprise it was really good, full of meat and very tasty. I will definitely visit again, thank you! UPDATE I popped in again and tried the King prawns with mushrooms only £4.20 and fantastic really tasty prawns, wish this place was close to where I live!”
