“Visited with my wife for lunch. Tasting menu was superb. Staff were excellent. Attentive without being overbearing and really added to the experience. Food was excellent with beautiful flavours. Highly recommended.”

“The food is excellent - having tried several starters and mains between us there was nothing disappointing about any of the dishes, with a flavour variety to accommodate all palates. The restaurant is spacious and can accommodate larger families / groups without feeling as if your table is joined to a stranger's. Service is attentive. Reasonable pricing, great value.”

“This place has it all! Just listen to the sound of my posted videos :) The best flavour for Chinese food. Once a week they visit our campus at Reading Uni and serve us traditional, delicious dishes. It works like a lifesaver at uni to have such a special restaurant serving at hour place. I usually go with porkbelly or beef with noodles. The meat is always soft and incredibly good spiced. The noodles absorb the sauce perfectly. I add spicy and sesame sauce along with cilantro and crushed peanuts as a topping. Definitely a must go if you are on Thursdays at Reading Uni or Wokingham.”

“E&O is a firm family favourite for us! We have visited a number of times and have never been disappointed. The food is super tasty, always hot and fresh and there are so many options to choose from! The service is fantastic and you are never rushed but always encouraged to take your time and enjoy. The all-you-can-eat option is a no-brainer - such great value! The restaurant itself is stunning with authentic Chinese decor and a great atmosphere. New Years Eve was our latest visit and the restaurant was incredibly busy. This didn't phase the staff at all - it was still very much service with a smile and the food was just as hot and delicious as it always is - credit to the chef(s)! We always look forward to our next visit!”

“We had a lovely family lunch. Not a huge choice of menu options, but something to suit most tastes. Menu changes regularly to accommodate seasonal availability of fresh vegetables. Children's menu is also available. Service was a bit slow, but staff are charming (we weren't in a hurry, so waiting wasn't a problem). Food was delicious. Modern building with high ceilings, loads of natural light and plants, makes it a very pleasant environment.”

“A fantastic little restaurant almost hidden in the village. The outside is quite nondescript but once in you are welcomed warmly by all the staff. Some amazing dishes on the menu including their bruschetta rustica and the sea bass. Staff were quick, friendly and attentive.”

“Lovely family run restaurant. You can tell everyone who works there cares about the place. We were a big group and catered for very well including my grandparents with specific dietaries. My baller cousins from USA were over and they made jokes about their watches which was funny.”

“We booked for 2 as the reviews showed fabulous food and staff. We chose 2 menus, one vegetarian and the plates just didn't stop coming. We couldn't believe how much food we were being served. We drank Lebanese wine and beer which were also excellent. While we still had plenty of food on the table, the friendly waitress brought more tasting plates and announced she would bring the main course in 15 minutes! We were amazed that there was more food to come. The restaurant is a real gem. The staff are genuinely warm and explained each dish as it was served. We loved the wine wall and the coloured lighting. Will definitely return to repeat the experience. We had to take away the baklava as we were simply too full. That was lovely too. Thank you.”

“Since this lovely cafe opened I’ve been many times and always enjoyed a friendly welcome and yummy food and drinks. Today I tried to the full english breakfast which was delightful. All grilled not greasy and lovely produce great price too. I’d highly recommend.”

We popped down for Mother's Day and enjoyed the carvery with a group of 14. “I was extremely impressed at the staff at the Gorse Hill Hotel. We had a late drink at the bar and they were so accommodating and incredibly friendly. The bartender in particular was such a warm personality and we did catch him laughing at some parts of our conversation, he definitely contributed to how good our stay was! The hotel is split into different buildings and the outdoor area is beautiful and well-maintained. The room was good, nothing special but it had a comfy bed and was a clean room. Thank you to everyone at the hotel.”

“A lovely meal! Since moving to the area we have been nothing but disappointed with the indians we have ordered. After looking at some reviews for Eastern Taste we decided to give it a go. Absolutely delicious, ordered the menu for 2 with some extra starters which was perfect for 3 adults and great value too. We will definitely be making this our regular.”
